Next Major Update - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 1)

sounds accurate no new SPAA for the uk lol

There are 2 SPAAs that are on BR 12.0.

  1. pantsir (Russians do not need a new AA)
  2. ito

I think because the Ito has only 12km range, Sweden gets the SLS system in addition. Every other nation has 11.3 or 11.7 AAs (I think the new AAs will get more range)

I found the list of suggestions in the forum but they are extremely long for Italy and UK. It is possible that a new TopTier AA has been suggested for the UK, but I have not found it

Skysabre, similar to the IRIS-T SLM but it uses the CAMM family of missiles and the basic one has an effective range of 25km which sure is longer then pantsir but I think the uk and everyone with a 10km range sam and below deserve a longer range sam

Looks great

modern SPAA usually has more max range thanks to better ballistic planning and radar tech(and advertising), but a AIM-9 size missile is still hard to be comparable to things like VT-1.
but FNF and auto pilot is a big advantage, I believe you seen VT-1 and 95ya6 can’t follow a EFT in close range but Strela-10 can
so to match current top SPAA, we need things around 20km.

I just checked and you’re right, I can’t imagine how an IR missile of the Macbeth would get to a Ka-52 then…
I now have a question, how does the LOAL function work in real life? Is it launched and then the seeker starts to scan? If so, when does it decide to do so and does the air target have to be locked on by the vehicle or something to launch the missile on the LOAL function or can the SPAA launch missiles randomly and pray the missile locks on something? Also, frindly kills would increase.

similar. it’s just like ARH missile, but with IR seeker. the radar and FCS computer guide the missile to the target, before it get a lock.
but IR seeker is not so good at finding targets for it’s small FOV, so it’s not possible until this century, with modern radar and high speed datalink, which can provide very precision guide

@Smin1080p_WT I hope this isn’t true as we value the work you and other CM, suggestions and tech mods do.

I doubt they would give Germany a 40km range SAM while leaving everyone else with a 12-17km range SAM.

I don’t expect more than 18km if they’re looking into tracking ranges of Kh-38MT and Hammer; they’re still using copy-paste AGM-65D stats and I feel that if fixed to their alleged IRL stats that they’d be worse.

It’s mostly unknown if it’ll work agains’t 5th generation seekers, President-S may have somewhat of a effect, just not to the extent to what we see now with current missiles in game.

Yeah for now everyone will have 12-20km spaa, and they will add with time in counterpart more features for each aircraft to do cas better and then after few years of asking better spaa finally getting the 40km stuff with iris t slm, mica ng vl and same for whatever other has for such range .

They have to make sure Russia always has the best AA

sadly not this time, there isn’t a suitable one for Russian. no middle range FNF SAMs

News flash, it won’t have the best.
Soviets still don’t have a SPAA that can counter top CAS; counter GBU CAS? Yes, just not the IR AGM CAS.
China’s getting one that does though.

I dunno, probably not. I just want Alabama. Honestly couldn’t really care about the rest of the US tree after that.

Russia doesn’t have to counter top CAS, because the top CAS in question, is Russian

Rafale, Mirage 2000D RMV, F-15E, F-15I, Su-30, and Su-34 aren’t all Russian, in-fact most aren’t.
