Next Major Update - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 1)

Pretty sure the AH-56 has been in the files for years now so its about time its added

yeah been in the files for a few years now so its the more likely one. I do hope it doesnt end up as a premium or event vehicle tho. If its the Comanche i wont be too sad because i also love that Heli

Definitely may end up being the TOR-M2, the busted version of the TOR.

nah they wont give russia the tor

they gonna give another one to china

The ones revealed in the blog just don’t feel very game changing yet for top tier.

They just look like more CAS food.

well in the end we have to wait and see

but i could imagine if used correctly that the AA with the IRIS-T could be really good

Could we get more T-54/55 as that is THE most produced tank of all time, and a cold war icon

The swedish thing teased in the dev blog only uses the IRIS-T SLS, which is pretty much limited to 12km range against a not manouvring target. So all CAS has to do is stay outside of 10-12km and don’t fly in a straight line.

AH-56, no matter how bad it’ll likely be in WT, is at least somewhat unique.

still waiting for F-14D announcement gonna end up like EAP

How new is type 625e?

thing with YAH-56 is itll be a high speed TOW flinger, flies at something like 240 mph so the entire strat with it is hit and run

Seldom have I seen such a lethal hopium overdose.

With how meh TOWs are, I doubt it will have high success rate.

Also it will fight against SPAA systems significantly newer than it. manpads and even early sams will make quick work of it.

that might be a bit hard tho with the FnF missiles more or less only get a proper lock at 13km (depending on weather and stuff)

it might be really good for intercepting ordinance tho, with the IRIS-T is also designed to intercept missiles (A2A version)

true, however with speed does come quite alot better ability to position to do hit and runs and better escape SPAA

Couple of years.

Still gives you a ~3km window (assuming you are evading and thus drain the missile of enough energy limiting the range even further).

fair, although iirc the swedish thing only has 4 ready to launch missiles. so it’ll be the classic case of overwhelming it if it can’t get to a cap.

It’s still a good addition, don’t get me wrong. However these are not the game changing highly needed SAM systems that top tier need, they feel more like sidegrades to already lacking systems.

well iam mostly interested how the IRIS-T is going to perform on it because we are going to eventually see it on aircraft as well

I respect the judgement of lots of guys in there, but it’s just pure speculation and hypothesis.

Unfortunately we will simply see what happens.

and I cant think of a better/fairer way of testing them than adding a SAM with them.

If they added them onto aircraft, everyone would have to get them, but in ground it doesnt matter if they are too strong nor does it matter if only a few nations get them initially
