It would go to the UK unless they made Turkey as subtree as it’s a BAE product. Engines are RR, avionics are joint BAE-Leonardo-TAI, airframe design was BAE also and its confirmed UK stealth research was used as Turkey had to gain an export license. Essentially no other nation builds or designed major components of the jet other than Turkey and the UK.
Also the UK is the only nation to exclusively use the F35B which will be the worst variant in game for literally everything, so the KAAN would be a nice alternative as everyone else has the vastly superior F35A which literally does EVERYTHING better.
The only people that would complain are those who want the tree to be wholly British at which point. I agree they should add the British jets first but I’d like to see the KAAN simultaneously because frankly, good luck having a game presence with the heaviest jet, the slowest jet, the worst flight performance, only 4 missiles internally compared to everyone else’s 6 and an external gunpod.
Now let me be happy with my fatter uglier F22 that’s still better than the F-35Brick
Yeah AoT is looking worse and worse recently with how much they have backpedaled on and what features seem to just no longer being worked on (no co-op flying with a friend and being the backseat gunner. Also WW1 being a “key feature” when all there is is just 4 aircraft with 0 customisation).
Yeah first they said you only have to pay once and then you get access to everything but now it looks like you’ll need to pay for packs to get some aircraft on top of paying for the game. (Wouldn’t really be an issue for me if the models were at the same level as DCS, but just being WT models ported over and given VR controls it definitely doesn’t seem worth it.)
Combat has got nothing to do with additions as long it’s been proven it can fly or drive and shoot it can be added. The F-35 should be added to all nations at the same time regardless, yes that does mean US, UK, Germany, France (BeNeLux), Japan, Israel, Italy, Sweden ect
Was floated as F-35A is cheaper and currently there is no production backlog on B model(as UK refuses to pay to build F35B domestically we must share timescales with USMC, even though the contract states we have domestic production rights).
When domestic industry participation is considered its equal pricing and unless the UK was to switch to the superior F136 Engine and have RR make it there would be no manufacturing share for RR which isn’t great given we want to prop them up as much as possible so they remain one of the big 2 engine manufacturers.
Only sacrifice is capability as A has better carriage capability and bay size and if the UK MoD cared they would’ve bought F35C and actually invested in the QE carriers.
Literally 35% a British plane across design and manufacturing and LM have even suggest potentially more what are you even saying dude. Also what stealth jet would they get.
Yeah, the issue with the F136 is that it was more unproven and although it had more potential, it just as easily could’ve become another issue with F-35
Indeed but might’ve been a good investment for the UK had they picked A or C model but B would be subpar with or without. I will also say that the leaked JPO memos explicitly state one of the reasons they chose F135 over F136 was because it was a wholly US engine whereas F136 was more UK biased.
We haven’t received any yet and won’t until next year at the earliest. Meaning until then Germany has no stealth jets to be added. Which IIRC makes Germany the only nation in game that can’t receive a stealth fighter currently, tho I’m unsure if Finland has received any yet
