Next Major Update - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 1)

I don’t see how withholding AIM-120C-5s would help with this… We’d basically be facilitating compression at this point by keeping such a good FM limited by its weapons.

Giving the Eurofighter AIM-120C-5s would give it more standoff range against the MICA, even if Gaijin does ungimp the MICA. Not to mention giving the Eurofighter access to the IRIS-T allows it to compete at very close ranges, which is something it severely lacks.

I’d argue we don’t need a whole new Eurofighter for that, especially when this variant has much better flight performance relative to anything that isn’t a Eurocanard and Gaijin can simply tack on radar fixes on top of giving it new missiles.

but the Aim9X is way stronger than previous Aim9s innit? After all the French didn’t get the Mica IR for similar reasons

I agree with you

I dont see a world were Gaijin does though, to them the Typhoon is in a great place and requires no additions or buffs.

120C and IRIS-T would make the Typhoon a monster imagine having an IR missile that works!

It can turn tighter and has a new seeker with improved IRCCM
the 9M in game is already largely underperforming.

MICA IR/IRIS-T are a different level ASRAAM slightly below those 2
Gaijin would have to model spectral flares which would make top tier jets near immune to none IIR missiles like 9Ms and R-73s

Not if everyone gets their equivalent missiles.

It also heavily depends on what Gaijin chooses to do with their IRCCM. If they model them correctly and actually give them an imaging IR seeker, we could be in serious trouble.

However, if Gaijin does not add IIR to AAMs, they could simply limit IRCCM to Gate-Width and Suspended Tracking (like the Stinger) for all next-gen IR missiles. That would be much more balanced, at least until they update CMs to be more effective.

Typhoons major weakness is the Radar
and it’s 9M
and that it doesnt bleed speed so you normally merge too fast and die.

If Typhoon was to receive IRIS-T I would carry 6 of them and 4 120s.

Countermeasure overhaul has to happen or these systems will not perform anywhere near what they should. I can already see a 15km ASRAAM shot being single flared by a Su-35

But uh, these missiles have a no-espape zone, wouldn’t that be broken?

All missiles have considered none escape zones, Gaijin doesnt model them.
You cant just fly near the ground and expect an 120 to miss.

They would, especially considering that every match eventually ends up in a furball, won’t be fun to die 90% of the times to some of those missiles in a 16v16

Yeah I’m afraid the more top tier will progress up the worse it will get as you’ll get nuked by more and more op missiles and it will become lottery to survive the beginning of the match
And there’ll also be less and less diversity the more you go up

Then you need to consider changing the game, reducing team sizes and restricting maybe even payloads.

Yep, as long as maps stay the same, but missiles get better, defending with all those missiles going around the map will be comically unfunny

f15ex launching a gazillion rocket-boosted poles at you gonna be wild

Yeah that side of things means everyone dies.
Especially when they add 120Ds and R-77M, Meteors etc

just multipath

That strategy might not work forever, metas don’t last

Thats a mechanic which will have to go and it wont save you from a 120D dropping on you perfectly vertical

Goes into multipath

Multipath might even get lower in the future, and power poles coming from a perpendicular angle still splash dmg you. Best bet are maps with better terrain cover, where evasive maneuvers can be more effective.
