I was trying to limit it to self-propelling SAMs. Specifically the launchers should be on a tank or truck chassis since that’s what we would get as playable vehicles in game.
I obviously don’t expect to get full radar setups, I’d more-so expect radar installations to be a feature on the map in Ground RB, which would supplement the launchers.
Trailer version - after some further research from the Försvarets Materielverk, they say that it can be towed by any towing vehicle, and it could be added as an upgrade modification, changing the towed trailer. (hard copium)
This should be currently exactly the same as ARH missile aka data link + IR terminal phase. So u have to guide it for a bit before being able to forget about it. It determines to turn on the seeker at a certain distance, like ARH does e.g. in game 18km, it turns on to scan for the target in designated zone.
although i’d say this issue is kind of mitigated by the size of electronics being always smaller as time goes by
MICA VL is a prime example, same 112 kg missile, nothing changed in total weight or dimensions, and yet, with better algorithms and smaller electronics (more propellant), you basically get double the range (20 → 40 km) between the 1990s missile and the 2020s one
I reckon even Gaijin has forgotten about submarines.
Yeah it is interesting. I hope they didn’t just mean the WW1 tanks, cool but of little use. There’s plenty of cool vehicles we could get, especially aircraft, that would be great to see even if they don’t perform well.
I thought about something, what if the Kurt Tank’s design aircraft is just a Focke Wulf 190 with the Ruhrstahl X-4s? They were actually added to the files a few months ago.
Is there any documentation im missing or is your source contradicting itself?
VFM says the missile was directly modified pre service in sweden. So between 1985 and 1987.
There is only a mention of jam resistance but nowhere is it listed to what degree.
The US Paper from 1993 only states that sweden asked germany for the 9Li but never mentions anything beyond that. And the timeline in the same document is also placing full production of the Li only after 1987, so after the aim9l has entered swedish service.
Maybe im missing crucial information like an export/buy report from sweden that actually confirms that they acquired the Li upgrade and not only asked germany for it and were denied back then.
