A new T-80BVM? Huh… I never thought about that. It would be cool.
it would be better to add OBJECT 219M than just C&P

Took only a minute to find. It’s not C&P. As for the Object 219M, maybe as an event vehicle. I’d very much like to see the newer T-80BVM added to the game as part of Russia’s researchable top tier.
for me it’s similar enough to be a C&P.
J/APG-1 is the datalink system, it’s required for the full capability, but not in general.
For example early F-2 models already used AAM-4s before they were modernized with J/APG-2 and J/ARG-1. This way AAM-4 would need o rely solely on IOG, and then only lock within the 15km seeker lock range (16km in game I think), but with no datalink input.
From a reverse speed of -11 km/h to -20 km/h is similar enough? Have you played Russian top tier before?
Not mentioning the thermals and other improved aspects of mobility…
As much as improved reverse speed and better thermals are good… it doesnt bring much difference from existing 80BVM. Wonder if they’re planning on installing Arena-M APS on them too (since T-72B3A with it was apparently spotted in you know there and T-90M being delivered last year)
I can’t wrap my head around how it doesn’t bring much of a difference, especially the mobility aspect. It’s also more “future-proof” in that if even newer rounds were to be introduced, the 2023 version would be the top tier tank in the Russian tree to receive that treatment.
We’re back! schizo time! Submarines by the end of the year, april fools probably will be WW1 biplanes, germany gets bismarck.
We’ve been saying this for 12 years lol
Given that Gaijin is intent on pushing toward more and more modern stuff, WW1 planes and tanks are incredibly unlikely for at least another five or so years.
True about the round (although without change in protection across the board I dont see a need beyond 3BM60. It already pushing (and WESTFOR never shutting about “There’s our better rounds?!”).
As for mobility… -11km/h already isnt that bad, it aint -4.2km/h of T-72/T-90. 9 more k/h is nice, but it wouldn’t change T-80 in any drastic way
(And that is if actual changes actually, you know, exist. The “”“-15km/h”“” of T-90M was already laughing stock)
That doesn’t sound right. J/APG-1 is a/the radar here which, to my knowledge, cannot communicate with the missile without the transmitter which is J/ARG-1
In the context of an EJ Kai, I don’t think this will be practical or good. No HMD and no TWS,. Have to hard lock to send the missile, essentially mad dog, in a general direction
Meh not even 5. They don’t care to the point that this stuff won’t be added like, ever ( as well as the QoL and non top tier variety they oh so advertise).
Ah yes the fabled improved reverse speed, for which the only “source” is a super shady and arguably not trustworthy video.
Everytime someone makes that claim I ask for an actual source on the better reverse, to this day I’m still waiting.
Yes, I meant J/ARG-1, my mistake
Yeah, not too much of an upgrade over AIM-7M. The 15km lock range is basically a hard limit at that point if you want it to be useful.
XAAM-4 also has a 20G limit, lower than the AIM-7M, so it’s really more of a sidegrade.
No, Im just saying it is possible. One Russian vehicle in mind was the BMPT at least I think that should come soon.
I doubt this change. I didn’t see any reliable news about it changed transmission.
For now, it’s just another “T-90MS has more reverse speed” to me
-20kph needs another reverse gear, and will result in significant visual change to it’s transmission’s appearance, like Ukraine T-84.
I hope it takes a long time because otherwise it would unbalance the whole game.
