I am speaking in terms of gameplay-wise addition. They are clearly meant to be transitional planes to the future IRIS-T / Meteor slingers that will come alongside 5th gen fighters, hence the artificially limited loadouts, etc.
You seem to think it would have been great to see this come before the ones we already got. So I wonder, what exactly makes these variants so much worse that they would have been perfectly balanced against F-16Cs and MiG-29SMTs?
And in any case, I don’t even get what all this rambling is about. That “Gaijin did not do (X) in the past”? So what? We are well past that already. We got Rafales, we got Eurofighters, what’s all of this even about anymore!?
Not to the game. Because it’s way, way too early for them.
Gaijin will probably add newer tranche and Rafale variants in a higher BR with these new munitions in the future along with Russian and American counterparts.
It didn’t make sense to skip straight to upgraded T2 typhoons, for air combat they would’ve been very similar afaik and it just doesn’t make sense to go straight to a later version. T1 BLK 5 wouldve been a fine 14.0
A more linear progression, more variants to unlock for different BRs, more money for Gaijin to earn.
Tranche 1 should be the one with only AIM-9Ms and AIM-120Bs.
Tranche 2 Block 10/15 should introduce improved DASS, better A2G and maybe better AMRAAMs.
Tranche 2 Block 20 could come as a stepping stone towards Tranche 3 with IRIS-Ts and Meteors.
Tranche 3 should introduce the CAPTOR-E AESA radar and further A2G upgrades (and IRIS-Ts+Meteors if they skip the Tranche 2 Block 20 variant)
