guys ffs i think most of the people here lacks reading comprehension the april fools event is WW1 infantry as an introduccion for us to test how it would be the future modern infantry combined arms mode in the game and also we would have a beta close test for the modern infantry combined arms mode before it officially comes to the game. is simple as that is not that difficult man.
i can´t belive that people is actually that dummy to think that this is a joke. GUYS COME ON WAKE UP what it makes you think that they are doing all this shxt for nothing a whole trailer that it looks better than the hornet stinks trailer the announcement of this published in instagram, twitter and even in steam they didnt do this before for just an april fools event its to much there is a lot of hype in between and we waited soo long for this.
and for the ones who didnt realized this: they posted this a day before aprils fools making people thinks its not real when the joke its that its real and they are watching and laughing at you guys because you got fooled thinking that this is not real when it is.
I wonder why they are against adding stuff like MITL, LOAL, mmW and nuclear weapons (that aren’t game ending nukes) and why they evade getting into modern ship gameplay (long range ship to ship (or rather surface to surface) missile stuff)
Not in a game that mainly advertises itself as “MMO military game dedicated to aviation, armoured vehicles, and naval craft, from the early 20th century to the most advanced modern combat units.”
War Thunder is a vehicular combat game. Enlisted is Gaijins’ Battlefield, not War Thunder.
Probably not as much as it would cost them to implement infantry in an even remotely acceptable manner.
Good for you, I absolutely despised it because of how badly the infantry was integrated. It felt like there was no gameplay dynamic between the infantry and the other vehicles whatsoever.
Yes, basically every April Fools event after 2016 was a testing environment in disguise. None of them tested anything as complicated as the viability of infantry though. If anything Mobile Infantry proved that shoehorning infantry in WT wouldn’t work.
I am fairly certain that most people would say that Enlisted is the result of people wanting a game like War Thunder, but with infantry as the main part of the gameplay with added vehicles on top.
I think you are the one coping and will be the one in for a rude awakening, I’m sure Gaijin would gladly give up the ability to market the game to teenagers and shoot themselfs in the foot just for a combined arms gamemode.
So guys are we think infantry is a permanent mechanic or just for April fools? Stona made it sound like they will be in the game as a permanent addition but I might be wrong
90% sure it’s april fools, and 90% is generously low estimate.
They often make it sound like that for april fools gamemodes. Just look at the Silent Thunder april fools in 2018 (don’t mind the article date on that one saying January 1st 2018, something is wrong with some of the old articles on the website).
Personally I am hoping for WW1 to be permanent. Would make sense with a lot the content (aircraft) has already been made for Aces of Thunder so it can easily just be ported over.
The infantry is guaranteed to be riddled with bugs so I think it would be better if that was the test so that Gaijin has a chance to fix issues and look at feedback from the test then add it later on in a more refined state. Granted Gaijin never has been any good at listening to feedback or refining anything.
But whatever stays will still be pretty cool. Just I would prefer WW1 to stay and let infantry be properly sorted to then later be introduced in a good state. WW1 I feel like would take less time to get right so I think that should come first, then infantry can be focused on to make sure they get it right.
That could be cool but I feel like the point of infantry could be to balance a lot of things at a lot of BRs. Maybe they are the link to long range sam sites and anti tank inplacements . Would make cas have to target them because if they don’t their team would lose.
Not saying ww1 shouldn’t come but it’ll great if they could come together
Honestly I think they could stay together with this. We are getting limited to WW1 according to the post so it I’d guess that would be a good starting point for infantry to then be expanded upon later on. Then alongside it keeping the WW1 vehicles since the models will already be there. Would be an absolute waste not too.
