Hard to say which ones could have carried incendiary bombs and/or napalm. Some nations had more reservations (not everyone is as happy to commit warcrimes as the US, Third Reich and Soviet Russia lol) when it comes to using that stuff and just kept them around, but ultimately decided against using it.
Though Lancasters definitely did carry out fire bombing raids a couple of times.
I mean like are we all getting April fooled, or is it an actual announcement?
I mean it feels like a lot of effort for an April fools, so yeah hopefully someday
I hope the map from the trailer comes at least, looks like a city map I’d actually like, just needs fleshing out with more cover and such and it wouldn’t be too bad. The aesthetic is nice at least.
The amount of money and time that went into the april event…
They should have spend it on modeling and programming some actual bug fixes and domestic ordnance for some nations that dont have domestic ordnance yet, like Japan, China, Benelux and Taiwan.
Fair. I’m not gonna defend the use of incendiary devices against humans anyways. Just saying that some nations may have overdone it a bit at times.
Not that any army on this planet is entirely clean when it comes to this stuff anyways. Mixing science and war produces some real monsters.
Well if the “announcement” is taken at face value, it seems like something that’s in the works, but that’s assuming that we aren’t all getting fooled.
With the sometime-in-less-than-24-hours event, we’ll see how serious they are, but I think they might actually be serious considering they did say full-scale testing is planned sometime in the future, likely this summer.
Again this is assuming i’m not being fooled (I probably am being bamboozled)
Judging by the trailer the infantry assets could have been comissioned or even flat out bought from someone else, some parts of the maps were taken from Enlisted as it seems and the other scenes could have been quick and dirty jobs.
The rest is stuff that already is in the game.
It’s also possible that for lower “level/tier” infantry that they could just port stuff from Enlisted, and also use the design and modelling teams from Enlisted combined with War Thunder teams to make the models and what not, but they probably did buy a lot of assets and work from there.
The playable part of the map isn’t huge, but there are more objectives and spawn zones than normal.
Something to note abt April Fools maps is that some of them have become playable later on, like Middle East and Spaceport. The same thing might happen to this one.
I might be reaching to far w/ this, but the text on the ruined billboards reminded me abt one of the unused maps that appeared in the files in June 2021 's update 2.7.0.55, before being removed in 2.7.0.56.
Some parts of this desert area shown in the later part of the trailer seem to have a lot in common w/ the Tunisia map in Enlisted, but there also parts that are obviously different such as this
Speaking of Enlisted, they’ve already had this event:
I wonder if we’ll get the functional commander 's hatches on modern tanks here in WT, the same way they were available on the M1A1 and T-80U in Enlisted 's event four years ago.
It 's hard to show in picture form, but the sequence w/ the MANPAD operator between 0:57 and 1:00 has them turning around kind of " stuttery ", which is also how I remember the Mobile Infantry exosuits behaving a few years ago.
They might run both simultaneously, like how Sky Pirates and Warfare 2077 did.
