I personally think the 2A7V is on par with SEP v3. I know DOI doesn’t matter but the SEP v3 is literally like 5 years older than the 2A7V.

But look at it from the bright side, this update we’ll likely get an even more overweight Namer that is barely better than the previous one likely at a higher BR.

The SEPv3 will still be worse than the 2A7V gameplay wise. However the gap should be smaller.

We’ve seen cut-outs of destroyed Abrams in the conflict that won’t be named. You’d think they’d have more data to work with, or even guestimate off of.

I would say they would be on par;
2A7V would STILL have better armor, but at least now SEPv3’s hull should be able to withstand up to 3BM60, and the turret would at least be ACTUALLY frontally immune (unlike all current Abrams, which can have their cheeks penned from 30+º arcs).
On the other hand, the Abrams would at least keep the reload advantage, so I would say they would be on an even field.
That being said, we are lucky if SEPv3 gets any armor improvement ingame at all- and if it does, it will likely be the 530mm KE figure attributed to AIM, SEP and SEPv2.

If I were a dictator who had direct control over Gaijin, the Abrams would be:
-M1A2, M1A1HC: as they currently are.
-M1A1 AIM, M1A2 SEP, M1A2 SEPv2: get the stated 35% increase in hull KE protection.
—M1A2 SEP, M1A2 SEPv2: get the stated 33% increase in turret KE protection.
-M1A2 SEPv3: 800mm KE turret cheeks, 600mm KE hull, guesstimation based on statements, previous upgrades and weight increase.
And no, I’m not gonna bother elaborating on these- I’m well beyond that point already… we’ve done that for enough years to no avail, so not bothering again.

I feel like that turret is just going to get bulkier, be an HE magnet even more, and give you slower traverse, but the world is your oyster friend.
From my time with the Mk.4M, the trophy generally doesn’t make a massive difference.
It used to be amazing when helis were more dominant, but helis are a lot less oppressive these days.
