The Leak said F mk.2, so Typhoon F.2
Typhoon DA1 has 10 hardpoints for missiles?
10 or 8.
Depending if u want to take more svr or bvr missles with u
wierd that they went with su33 instead of mig29k. especially with the other 4.5 gen stuff coming. we may even see mig35 and never see mig29k.
su-33 better than migs
su-33 easily beat a mig-35 in dogfight
The mig35 would slap the su33 out of the air bvr wise? your point? Just because the Sukoi exist doesnt mean we should neglect the migs.
Mig29k has a better twr, better radar and a better rwr. Mig29k even supposedly uses stealth coatings that reduce its rcs by about 5x. Su33 against a mig29k isn’t much of a fight.
Wrapping your head around all the tranche’s / block’s is confusing enough.
Then when the individual countries are throwing additional naming & number designations on top of that… Yeah, i’m not even going to try to understand all these different variants lmao.
I’m glad this community has smart people to spoon feed it to me.
Easy way to remember it for the UK imo is
T.1 (Tranche 1 Trainer)
F.2 (Tranche 1 Fighter)
T.3 (Tranche 2/3 Trainer)
FGR.4 (Tranche 2/3 Fighter)
Theres then the typhoons upgrades to carry meteor and others through Project centurion which brings them up to about tranche 4 standard
There’s no chance i’ll remember it, but at least i’ll have this comment to refer back to lol.
Its not easy to rember, most of the time people just go by armament
So T.1/F.2 is pure A2A plus Paveways
And T.3/FGR.4 is multirole so brimstones, Storm Shadows etc
Ain’t no way a MiG-29K or MiG-35 losing a dogfight to an Su-33 either. LMAO
Just F.2. Not FGR.2 it doesn’t have any A/G weapons.
Doesn’t it say F Mk.2 instead of F.2?
That is what F.2 means in RAF designating.
and the 9M, at top tier feels like a wasted shot. Jets just have so much thrust and power now they can defeat missiles easilly.
The lack of high offsite bore capability makes the 9M difficult to use at top tier.
No, what?
You use your flight performance to give the missile a good launch. We really do not need 50+ g IR a2a missiles any time in the next few years.
30g is fine and tvc missiles are held back by bad IRCCM and spiralling, which works well to keep them balanced.
