JH-7A can become the Fox 3 carrier, funnily enough.
But with the current BR compression I think it’s better off not getting PL-12s.

I also have a feeling it isn’t equal to a Mig-29 in performance. R27ERs are good, but the MiG only gets 2 of them compared to the Phantoms 4 Aim-120s. And in a dogfight the Phantom has vastly better missiles too.
If it goes down, 12.7s go down, and stuff is recompressed.

It was a regular MiG-23 MLD with some armaments thrown on it for display at an exhibition.
Basically Russia was saying “if you pay us the money we can develop this upgrade for you, and then you can buy it from us”

I would still like to get other nations being competitive without needing to rely on F-15E putting all their AIM-120 into MiG-17’s.
i wish japan gets some better CAS options other than unguided bombs and rockets and AGM-65Bs as much as i love the F-16AJ it has come to a point that its really cutting in on the ability to enjoy what japan can offer.

oh trust me i know, but i am also very aware that either this subtree will be the best thing to happen to the japanese tree as a whole, or it will do nothing to salve japans problem of the lack of precision CAS that isn’t TV based
Thai Gripen has the same ability to use the same weaponry as other Gripens, so it shouldn’t matter too much.
Pray it gets AIM-120 not R-Darter.
Why would the Thai gripen get the r-darter?
Thai never used R-Darters anyway, so it should be AMRAAMs regardless.

i have been hoping and praying for the B.Kh20 (thailand designation for their gripen) because man it would help out japan heaps, but i dont think we will get it, for now, unless some new news comes out about what to expect from the royal thai air tree.
Absolutely, moving it down would undo the work the last decompression did. Hoping in the next Major patch we see more decompression and addition of vehicles with differing ground and air BRs. (A2D-1 down to 6.3-6.7 in ARB please?)

Thailand does have Derby, which is what the R-Darter is, a local Derby. Possibly might have Derby and AMRAAM (like for example on the Israeli F-16C)

From what I know Thailand has the derby for the F-5E TCU/F-5TH super Tigris, don’t know if it’s on the B.Kh20 gripen… Wish I could check
