nice, didnt know that kind of concept ship existed
they basicaly asked for a design that can withstand basicaly all known threats to a battle ships and that is what resulted a massive ship
iowa class nuke shells would like to have a word (that can also counter yamato)
oh i belive they tried to make it at one point nuke resistant but they realised that might be quite hard and you would have to compromise a lot of the rest of the ship to achive it
but i think that the N3 class would be a better fit as its guns and armor are slightly better but it is a fair bit slower
n3 wouldnt quite compete with yamato but itd be a serious threat
The armor and guns were planned to be a similar if not thicker and the guns were claimed to have equal or more pen than Yamato
But I am not sure how the snail does naval armor as a fair amount of the protection comes from the quality of the armor as well as the thickness and angles
Actually I believe Yamato and Iowa are almost neck and neck on reload time with Iowa just being barely faster. More or less 2 rounds a min for both depending on elevation etc…in WT though most likely a set 2 rounds a min for both. (According to navweaps).
NUKE SHELL ALL THE WAY! fr would be so cool
i also heard that its 20 seconds to load the gunand 10 for the full fire solution
As we can see in the US 14’’ battleships and IJN Amagi, catapult and hydroplane on turret is inoperable in this game
For Nelson class, while seeing on IJN Mutsu and IJN Amagi in this game, I lost hope for any further 16’’ battleships. While people saying horrible 15’’ dispersion, 16’‘s current dispersion is much worse. But I sill have hope for KGV as 14’’ dispersion is good in this game, and British 14’’ AP penetration would be better than Hood and Barham’s current AP.
Even if its slightly worse, you are firing 10 rounds vs 8. (just hope the RoF is similar to Hood though) Also KGV has a HE shell. Something misisng from all the 15" ers at the moment. HE can be more effective vs certain targets, even Scharnhorst as you can cause perma flooding.
Perhaps, but the Japanese 16"ers have a higher RoF than Britains 15"ers.
i mean the iowa class was known to be very accurate, so 16in could become good, at least on the BB’s
HMS Hood and the 15" guns that are present on Renown and Barham were reported to be some of the most accurate guns in the world. Out-classing most others.
In-game, good luck getting more than 50% of your shells to land on target.
Accuracy is a balancing things. Not an IRL thing.
historical accuracy does nothing on the game. In that case, British 15’’ should be much more accurate than US 14’‘, which is one of most unaccurate gun in WW2. But in game US 14’’ are much accurate than British 15’'. This game just depend accuracy depend on caliber.
Honestly, my favorite paper ships are the Tillman “Maximum Battleships”, of which my favorite designs are the Tillman II; which had twenty-four 16 inch guns in 4 sextuple turrets, and the Tillman IV-2; which carried fifteen 18 inch guns in five triple turrets.
No not balancing, it’s just Gaijin’s ignorance and laziness about naval technology.
Fairly certain it was an intentional balancing thing. Fairly certain a Tech mod reported Hoods accuracy 2 years ago and they came back and said it was a balancing thing.
