Honestly the US has so many prototypes to pull from, it still baffels me how gaijin could wait this long to adress stuff when options are available.
Sorry I can’t hear you! what!? You want another SPAA for USSR tech tree? Sure, coming right up!
Edit: On a serious note, the prototype SPAA I’d like to see the most is the T100 MGMC
Armed with 4x 0.60 cal and a tracking radar it’d be a good precursor to the M163
I think an era split would be very useful for SPAA in this radius, the M19A1 could stay in the WW2 tree, and something like the T85E1 or that one M2 halftrack with the Elco PT boat turret could fullfill the need for rapid fire autocannons.
The M42 would stay at the same BR, but would now be in the early Cold War where it can be used primarily to prey on light vehicles rather than as an AA, which would then be fullfilled by the multitude of other available options.
This would prevent WW2 aircraft from fighting high-output radar SPAA and prevent Cold War jets from harassing WW2 SPAA.
Honestly the thing that annoys me us when gaijin adds an spaa that doesn’t work as an spaa is plays better as a TD as its either too squishy to be an spaa or just handles poorly or doesnt have enough ammo.
This is literally just CnP of the old leak list with a few new additions
Since we’re on this topic, I mind as well mention this curiosity I found. Everyone’s favorite Maxon quadmount except with twin 0.60 cals replacing the M2HBs.
Unfortunately, as you can see it’s trailer mounted which is why I didn’t bother posting in the wishlist thread, but it’s still interesting to see another anti-air application for these rare 15.2mms.
I mean, the Churchill Crocodile exists in-game
Gaijin could put the armament on the trailer and have it permanently attached to some truck if they wanted to
I’m not usually a fan of the idea of trailer artillery, but since this is clearly a specialized mount I suppose I wouldn’t mind.
Wdym by that? There aren’t that many examples of artillery that can be aimed and fired from the carriage while still attached to the vehicle in the first place, no?
For War Thunder’s purposes, many artillery that would normally require recoil stabilization before firing could technically be used ad-hoc, which is what I’m not so keen on.
Most notably artillery with a rotating central base, such as the 88mm Flak cannons.
Ah, makes sense. For a gun as big as flak 88 you’d probably need the outriggers in place.
Either way you can rest assured knowing this arrangement of flak 88 wouldn’t play well at all
It could be made to work with the 0.60 cal SPAA, not so much for a tank destroyer as the towing vehicle would get in the way of your target
I wouldn’t expect such a long “vehicle” to play well at all, but all the same I imagine it would be very irritating to kill, potentially even surviving HE overpressure due to the two separate segments.
F-4E Terminator to Italy just because lol
I guess if Turkish products and modifications started coming to Italy en masse the same way India is being pushed on Britain we might see another wave of outrage haha
Tho let’s face it Italy would most likely get Turkey and Spain ect.
What turkish modernizations
Yep, Turkey and Spain already have representation in the premium tree so it’s pretty likely we will see more of their vehicles in the future as tree filler.
I think Turkey would probably fit in better under Israel, Gaijin only gave Italy the TAF F-104 because of their odd policy of adding whatever operator nation they can think of for copy paste premiums, regardless of if said operator nation actually fits or not.
It’s a pretty irritating trend that could possibly ruin minor nations’ chances of going to their proper parent country or getting an independent/combined tree entirely.
Most particularly those of the Leopard 1/2 and M48/M60 come to mind.
I think you guys are just overinterpretating these additions. Spanish Centauro is nothing more than a vehicle of Italian origin used by Spain, same goes for F-104S TAF and Mangusta being used by Turkey.
