KMW trialed it in germany though in the Janes review article they talk about it
you just miss-interpreted here , and the answer is also in the free part of the article , has , what i asume you mis-interpreted being :
“A Belgian John Cockerill Defense C3105 two-person 105 mm turret has been integrated onto a rear mission module of the Boxer 8x8 Multi-Role Armoured Vehicle (MRAV) at Krauss-Maffei Wegmann’s (KMW’s) facilities in Munich, the company has confirmed.”
is used in this context literally for what’s written right under it “This combination has also completed some company mobility trials in Germany, and manned firing trials are planned to take place in Germany”
the “according to the two contractors” bit is mentionning booth Cockerill (the maker of the turret , and leader of the project) and KMW ( the company that offerd the facility for trials , since one of it’s vehicle is used)
and before you even say “YeA tHeY wErE tEsTeD aT KmW FaCiLiTy’S” dude KMW literally has one of the best testing facility’s in EU , and by far is not a prof that the project was german lead , for exemple the Chalenger 3 was tested other there

i concede , that i might have remembered wrong that belgium didnt have any parts in the project.
still saying germany stole it from belgium is wrong, besides that belgium has several other wheely vehicles with the same turret as option

God I hope we do see WW1 in the game at some point. Obviously they will be hard to balance and would need a lot of work to optimise the gameplay for them but man will they be cool to see

i could definitly knock out any 3.3 and lower with a sopwith camel ww1 wouldnt be that bad to balance
crazy turn rate plus good energy retention equal ez win
To be honest, the best way to do it, at least for aircraft, would be to just add a WW1 dogfight event, queue as a nation, you get that nations WW1 biplane and then its just a mini ARB type gamemode.
Just leave the TTs out of it

That or maybe have them as their own tech tree like Coastal ships but have them only able to face each other.
Or another way they could do it is bump everything up a BR and have WW1 as the reserve tier with more interwar aircraft filling the gaps between WW1 and the current reserve aircraft
