Because the missiles aren’t AESA. The F-2 still uses AIM-7 and AAM-4 that are PD.
While AAM-4 does have combined datalink input with its own seeker that could negate this, even that is held back by two factors:
Gaijin hasn’t added that feature yet, even if the F-15J(M) has the J/ARG-1 for it
Early F-2As lack J/ARG-1 completely, which not only means no AESA datalink guidance after AAM-4 seeker tracks, but no datalink at all
So unless they add J/ARG-1 functionality and a late F-2 with J/ARG-1 mounted, or add AAM-4B AESA seeker missiles, the radar will not be much of an issue. Instead the F-2s strength would be that it is a significantly more agile version of the best dogfighter in game while carrying more and better missiles.
It would have just a bit more, since unlike early F-2s it has datalink for the ARH missiles, slightly better thrust to weight and carries 6 AMRAAMs while the F-2s capability to carry 6 AAM-4 is unconfirmed.
That being said, if the F-2 is allowed to bring GCS-1, JDAM and ASM-2s for CAS (even LJDAM and ASM-3 in later variants) it might not be too far behind there.
WT should honestly think about adding the F/A-18A+ in the next update. The J-10A is a early 2000s built aircraft yet the A model came in the early 80s!
Once again - dates means nothing, only their capability. Is F/A-18A+ is of similar performance and capabilities of J-10A (Early) (no idea why it “Early”, but meh) and other top tiers?
Dunno. I’d say they’d go with something that either has a large player base but no represented nation OR countries that saw relatively much conflict with their airforces. Think Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Pakistan, India or some of those combined (obviously not all) with some filler nations from their areas/alliances added to it.
Was there a new nation hinted/teased to be being worked on?
If I had to guess this one.
Just a guess. Maybe with some other countries added too.
Indonesia is a partner for the Boromae and already operates a Korean light attacker/trainer.
Thats not how this works.
AESA radars are insane powerful im ensuring the missile gets solid guidance form the aircraft till the moment the missiles own radar takes over.
And if AESAs arent an issue, why not already adding them.
If a Eurofighter in its Tranche 1 configuration is “too technologicaly advanced”, pretty sure those were smins words (do correct me if im wrong) then this also applies to aircrafts such as the rafale and F-2.
But tag him and ask.
