It could use M829A3 (which is over 20 years old by now, by the way), which would not be much better than DM53 fired from L/55 guns as stated by Gaijin themselves, so can’t see how that would be OP.
Amazing mobility and ROF… like pretty much every MBT except RU/CN at this point lol. What makes the difference when practically every MBT is matched in firepower and mobility is armor and survivability… none of which the Abrams has at all.
And no, SEPv2 is not “2nd best top tier tank” when 2A7HU, 2A7V, 122B+, 122B PLSS and 122A are things.
Even assuming it to be better than everything else, it would be the 6th best if we are generous. Which is nice, but far from “2nd best”.
The M829E3 is the Army’s next generation 120mm Armor-piercing Tank round. It replaces the M829A1 and the M829A2 projectiles. These rounds are widely regarded as the most effective tank-fired anti-armor weapons in the world. The E3 round will provide the army greater armor penetration capability than its two predecessors and also with improved accuracy. The M829E3 120mm Cartridge is an Armor piercing Fin Stabilized Discarding Sabot - Tracer. This Advanced Kinetic Energy Round that defeats advanced threat armor, with improved accuracy at greater range. This new 120mm KE round for the M1A1 and M1A2 Abrams fleet features a combustible cartridge, overall length is less than 986mm, Depleted Uranium Penetrator. Weight is less than 56 Lbs. and it uses RPD 380 propellant. The System Contractor is Alliant Techsystem, Inc.
Fair then, but still. US mains look at the Sep V3 like it would be a massive upgrade over what theyve already got, I dont think it would be, that it would somehow come in a vacuum and not alongside other modern tanks like the Leopard 2A8 or Challenger 3 and finally, and this is a fact that most US mains refuse to accept, the Abrams IS one of the best MBT families in the game and performing perfectly fine. I still strongly beleive it should have a 6 second reload not 5 and most of the 12.0 ones should be 12.7
m829a3 would be fine but m829a2 is already an amazing round so i dont see the point?
628mm of pen on a 5s reload for the first 19 rounds is technically the best ingame at the moment other than maybe the japanese with a 4s autoloader for the first 15 with 613mm of pen
my list goes
1: 2a7HU/V (tied)
2: M1a2 SEP V1/V2
3: Strv 122B+
other than armour i see nothing the 122s have over the abrams
Well to be fair irl it is a very good preforming mbt. But i can not say the same in game unfortunately. And btw to be considered a “good loader” in the us army you have to be able to reload the tanks within 5 seconds
@Piciu713
May I asked if its Planned to (Rename) the ingame displayed versions of the diffrent IRCM types?
Like for example
IRCM for Mi-24
DIRCM for the Ka-52 and
LDIRCM for the Mi-28NM
Currently they all are just labelled as “IRCM” even tho they are allready DIRCM/LDIRCM
It has the best firepower at top tier, equal or superior mobility and equal or superior survivability to all but the leopards.
It is easily within the top 3 MBT families in-game right now and the M1A1 HC, Clicbait and M1A2 have no buissness being at 12.0.
Heck, I even question why the M1A1 isnt 12.0 instead of 11.7
Reload rates are always a balancing thing, there is no reason for example why the Challenger 3TD couldnt have 5 second reloads like the Challenger 2. Heck the Chieftains are currently at 8 seconds when they should probably be around 5 seconds as well
