I know the turret is the same as 2PL’s, but I wonder about the hull.
If the hull module adds a similar amount of KE as 2A7V/HU’s, then it would be adding 670-430= 240 mm KE;
Except the base armor is 280mm KE instead of 430mm KE, so it would be 280 + 240 = 520mm KE, roughly…?
On the other hand, the module looks more angled and potentially thicker, so, ideally and hopefully, it will be on par with 2A7V’s armor as to be a true 12.7.
Ideally, it will have spall liners, too.
The hull add-on’s should be very similar to Strv 122B+.

Which means that, rather than 520 KE, we should be looking at 600?
This makes me look forward to it a lot more!
That being said, seeing Gaijin make the 2020s 2A7s have worse protection than the early 2000s 122s for… some reason, makes me fear that they may do the same to this tank.
In general, they tend to always go for the lowest values of the lowest estimates possible.
Do you also know whether it should have 3rd or 1st gen thermals? I’ve seen people state both and I am not knowledgeable enough on this tank to know, hahah.
The Armor Package is Identical according to IBD Deisenroth Engineering. (at least the External part)

IIRC they were trying to keep similar dimensions to the 120 to ensure platform compatibility.

Of course! But as the performance fetishist that I am, I hope this tank is implemented in its full glory as a full-fledged 12.7, rather than underperforming, lacking or capped to be 12.3, hahah.
If it should have 600mm KE, spall liners and 3rd gen thermals… let it be that way, and it will be wonderful!
If it’s lacking any of those things, well… I am happy some will still look forward to it, maybe I will still use it to replace Type 90, but it would be a bit disappointing, hahah.

Spall liners are smth I’ve never been able to clarify on, only Singaporean 2SG has (semi-)confirmed Liners at least in the turret and 3rd Gen Thermals - AFAIK the 2RI still has original Themals.
