Next Major Update - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 1) (Part 1)

Really? Guess I need to start putting those in a reply now too…

I really think anything that isn’t classified should just be visible so people can see what report they’re supporting and what it’s based on.

Epic lol

Peace Icarus would certainly be nice.

It will be essentially better ICE in SIM due to modern cockpit.

Wut? Unless Greece made significant changes Leopard2HEL is basically 2A6EX with additional roof composite armor.

In terms of warthunder gameplay it will be better Strv122 due to having L/55 cannon, I don’t know if you can call that a unique vehicle for warthunder standarts.

Its a 2A6EX w/ upper glacis + crew hatch upgrades. That is a Hellenic modification. I never said it is entirely original (i even say “The only purely domestic ground forces I can think of is the Leonidas (2) APC series”) but it would be unique in game.

So… different?

$50 prem right their

You mean armored hull?

That feature was already on 2A6EX.

More like 2A7V but lighter while having roof armor , so I guess you can call it different enough.

And do we have the 2A6EX in game…?

We do have 2A7V and Strv122 in game which both of them features armored hull so in that case HEL isn’t any special.

Still I like armored Leopards so more of them are always welcome in my book, as long as they get implemented properly tho.

i wonder what will come for rank IX ground

The side of the tree is just where the Greek line would inevitably be placed. In terms of BR/Rank filling, that’s the main reason a Subtree is needed. Without Greece a Rank I-III for Air would be far less viable.
Just take a look at Rank I and you’ll see how completely unviable it is without any Greek vehicles. The main selling of point of Greece for me is that is has so many potential Rank I-II vehicles to solve this issue, while the later tank vehicles are fewer and enough to fill a single line at times so it also doesn’t impede upon the potential Israeli lines, making it an ideal pairing for the Israeli tree as it’s such a perfect fit in that regard.
Sadly it doesn’t really solve the BR gap between 6.0-7.7, unless they add the T-33 which may fall within that range, but it definitely solves everything else, including Top Tier 4+ gen AESA with the addition on F-16C/D Block 72 VIPERs and their Rafale EG/DG. Great stopgaps until the F-35I arrives, and maybe we’ll see a Greek F-35 someday as well (standalone or as a skin, we’ll see)

air is pretty much all other countries stuff. same for ground with a couple exceptions.

it would be a More Multirole capable ICE too because it retained the Standard F4E’s ability to carry Smart ordenance

it would generally be the better phantom overall

probably actually OP in Infantry mode

  • very agile

  • small profile

  • deadly gun

It also has access Thermal pod which makes it even better than most CAS focused Phantom variants iirc.

More BMPT for Russia

hopefully we get the AN/ALQ 119 ECM for them Phantoms once ECM gets added to the game

ECM pods, SEAD capabilities and many more.

Honestly I’m also excited for Terminator 2000 since both platforms still outlives their expected lifespan.

Who says we are going to see a fully fletched sub-tt in one go?
We are more likely to see it being implemented as BeNeLux ground, Malaysian or Indonesian Air forces.

Knowing Gaijin, i wouldnt count on that many unique vehicles, perhaps 1 or if we are lucky 2. Since it’s going to be for the least played nation.

I don’t het why people are still beint hyped for sub-tt’s, the only unique sub-tt is South-Africa. The rest was just added in the sloppiest way possible, like Finland, BeNeLux, Malaysia, etc…
