Yep, or split CMs
True but I’m saying that its still Skyflash (Dogfight) when that really shouldn’t be the case anymore
I dont think i get your point, can you explain a little more
new leaked German tier VII premium
Ok i got it. No skyflash is a closer to 7e. The only thing that connects it to 7m is the inv monop seeker. Other insides are 7e
Back when sparrows were added, the AIM-7E-2 and Skyflash were added at the same time. Because at the time they would have been the best BVR missiles in the game, they were coded as such and were basically statclones of each other, to the point where both of them have (Dogfight) after the name even though it really shouldn’t. Nowadays, a few years later, neither missile has changed despite the introduction of more advanced BVR missiles. So Skyflash is still held back by being a statclone of the AIM-7E-2 from 2019 or whenever, when in reality it should be a lot better than that, even discounting the seeker.
To add onto this, Skyflash (iirc) is based on a 7E. Not a 7E-2. The difference is that the 7E is much better at long range than the 7E-2, and that shows in how the Skyflash performs. It should be better at long range and have a longer range in general, but instead it is just a 7E-2 with a different name.
so you’re essentially saying all earlier Sparrows are more powerful than they should be?
Yes they are - bar Skyflash
Expect 7m yes 7m would be left unchanged
just like AiM-9B and AiM-9B FGW.2
While technically yes, the AIM-9B and AIM-9F (easier than FGW.2 lmao) have the same seeker just the AIM-9F is cooled better because its more modern. So it has a greater seeker range but the same rocket range as the 9B because the motor wasn’t changed at all, and neither were the actual missile maneuvering devices so it is the same just with a better seeker.
That is also the case in 7e Skyflash. The difference is the new seeker in the Skyflash
eh no, the 9F got new Semiconductor electronics and new cooling
the seeker was still caged wich is a problem, however the upgrades resulted in the track rate increasing from 10°/s to 16°/s
and while that’s still bad compared to later Sidewinders it should be noticeable im game
I understand, but what I was saying previously is that a 7E is not a 7E-2. The 7E-2 is arguably worse at longer ranges than the standard 7E, because it has clipped wings meant for fast head on attacks. If the Skyflash is based on a 7E and not a 7E-2, it should have this feature, but it is just a 7E-2 right now
Yeah the tracking rate was improved but the actual control surfaces weren’t so it doesn’t really matter how much it can track if the missile can’t turn fast enough
although tbh the G limit thing sometimes seems arbitrary
ik ik, im still annoyed my 9F isn’t the slight bit better than the 9B that it should
Fun fact, there were normal skyflashes during dev on the Tornado F3, but they got changed into Dogfight ones
why not add both?
Ask the snail
it doesn’t pick the phone up
