Both thaings can be true. China is currently lacking a good IFV after it’s BMP-1, but it also lack any good light tank for top tier after the Stupid boat car at 9.7, which is easily one of my least favorite top tier cars. A tracked light tanks with a cannon and a tracked IFV with say an unmanned turret like on the VN-20 would go a long ways to help china
I’m just glad to see the Type 15 get passed, as it would alot in really well with Chinas top tier lineup

I mean it’s a Ukrainian home grown T-84 then modified more by the Thailand army so it not really a Soviet tank at that point

Kinda is, it’s based on the T-80UD which is Soviet.
It feel more or less like the Chinese equivalent to the T-15 heavy IFV
