Driver viewport weakspot is strengthened to the point where it becomes near inexistent (both in terms of resistance and weakspot surface area), mantlet is reinforced and smaller inner cheek weakspots (near inexistent), whole hull armor become EVEN stronger since the base armor is significantly better, turret roof armor is thicker and reinforced, 3rd gen commander thermals besides the 3rd gen gunner thermals BVM already has…
Is it a bit slower than BVM? Yes.
Does it have even thicker and better armor than BVM, which is already the best armored MBT? Yes, too.
Not a downgrade, not at all. A sidegrade, at most, if anything.

But just because it’s a bit slower, Russian mains refer to it as a “huge downgrade”.
Not only does its armor become significantly stronger, but it also covers more surface area, making its front weakspots even smaller than BVM’s already are.

Yep, because the 580mm pen 3BM60 struggles a lot against M1A2 SEP’s 355mm KE hull or Leopard 2’s 350-420mm KE armor.
It’s not a bit slower. It’s quite a lot slower.
And mobility has always been more powerfull than armor in game.
