CF-18s started out as F/A-18As and australia operated As as well
So I explained that I meant the F-35 project, and not all projects that have this technology :0
As i said above its just a thought, britiain is gon a be stuck between a rock and a hard place soon with the eurofighter still a while away (Easily 13.3/13.7 territory)
Not just my logic stop solely targeting me
But as we keep saying Britain has no fighters for the last 5 years and properly for the next 3 too.
It a unofficial lease end off
As I stated the only commonality is that Lockheed had problems working out their own equation so instead of investing in solving a new one they bought an already solved one from the YaK team.
They were upgraded to C equivelent tho
Yes, so were loads of other planes, yet we have their earlier versions in the game
This is also relevant to the F-35? Harrier is just another example. The worlds only production STOVL fighters have all been British.
A stupid decision, since the weak point of this aircraft is already known
with the naval stuff removed and with asraams
What
Ok, I apologize
But Canadian Hornet (in Canadian livery, with Canadian roundels) is viable option without going into “exchange” area or what not…
I said above… I am aware that UK is in difficult spot since Smin denied Eurofighters
ASRAAMs entered service in 1998, the RAAF got their first Hornets in 1984
Well we will just have to see, personally i think its a pretty sound basis considering an unoficial lease to train FAA pilots in preparation for the originally planned CATOBAR QEs and to avoid the brain drain from not flying fixed wing for a decade
then it later had it then sorry
Yea like you said we have the ADATS as a end of the line solution so could be the CF-18 too
I really can’t see them adding something unofficial rather than a aussie F/A-18 when every other australian plane in the game is in the british tree.
I am unsure about the CF-18 since canada so far only added 3 tanks to the british tank tree and a couple of skins, however it would be the better addition since it retains everything needed to use it as carrier-based aircraft, whereas the aussie F/A-18 would only be able to take off of ramp based carriers at best and might not be able to properly land on them afterwards.
Great, another Rumor Roundup thread is about to get hijacked by Deathmisser’s UK wishlisting.
I personally think we could see an Cf-18 for britian this december if F18 comes, plus an F-18E as a maybe further down the line, as australian F-18Fs would be a bit of a stretch i think, gaijin gets finicky when it comes to commonwealth
Hey it wasnt deathmissers wishlisting, it was MY suggestion that UK get F18E cause british pilots have flown them for a decade, dont blame deathmisser for this
