Pretty sure the Kai is almost maxed out when it comes to armament. Only the AAM-3 is missing and that would still be an IR missile, just an upgrade over the AIM-9L

Whilst im not saying the Japan shouldnt have gotten something more. Just annoys me that Britain and Sweden didnt get the same solution, Even though there was options for both as far as I am aware.
They’re both fine? They aren’t meta but the Tornado and Viggen can receive AIM-120’s.
Meanwhile Japan has nothing until the F-2 and F-15.

You know that wouldn’t change anything, right? Japan is still getting an F-16, except instead of AJ specification its an exact copy-paste of the ADF.

Well the F3 hasnt been fine, if it gets uptier its DOA, instantly, It can barely fight F-16s and Mig-29s. In SB it has an 11.7 BR which might as be 12.3
The fact they “might” get AMRAAM in the future:
- Doesnt change the past year of being DOA
- Doesn’t actually mean the jets are going to be any good. (Tornado F3 with C5s and ASRAAM would be, but 9Ms and Bs would be DOA)
- A C&P Tornado F3 after a year of DOA Tornados would just suck
While I agree, adding a whole subtree (of entirely copy-paste vehicles btw) just for a single aircraft isn’t the solution either.

Well, a sub-tree would also solve the issue of japan having only a single strike plane and very weak CAS, but other than that, fair

Im annoyed that instead of getting the Tornado F3 sometime between the Mig-23MLD and F-14A, we got it 6 months after the F-16/Mig-29 (I dont consider the F3 added until it actually got a usable radar)
Japan could have been left with the KAI, perhaps just getting AAM-3s. (Britain had the FGR2 for 3 years as our top tier jet and just got upgrades to keep it going like SkyflashDF) But instead they invented an F-16 for them. Meanwhile Britain?
We haven’t gotten a new jet in 9 months… The highest jet we have is an 11.7 ground attacker that has only been 11.7 worthy for the last 2 months. Before that we ONLY had 11.3s. All 3 of which are missing features or have placeholder weapons.
Tornado F3 MIGHT get an upgrade, but it will at best be placeholder weapons. The best it can hope for is Aim-120Bs and Aim-9M. (which wouldnt be all that historically accurate) and those arent going to change much. Will still be a BVR truck relying on the radar to do anything and thats all just assuming US and USSR dont get 12.7/13s in the next major update.
Now if the Tornado F3 got its historically accurate weapons of Aim-120C5s and ASRAAM. Then yeah, it would be a competitive top tier, but that is never gunna happen. Other options include Sea Harrier FA2 which would also be a missile truck relying on radar power and again would probably be DOA vs 12.7s/13s that we are likely to see this coming update.
A C&P from another nation like an F-18 or Gripen C might work. But still doesnt change the sucky past year+. We should be getting a Prototype typhoon this coming update, not a C&P stopgap

If you start the argument where I’m talking about France with the fake VBCI-2 and Japan was only brought up by some one upset about the AJ then of course I’m going to be confused.

Maybe… Strictly speaking Aim-9Ms werent compatible. Which is why they stuck with Dechirped Aim-9Ls until ASRAAM
Aim-120Bs were only used because htey were leftover from the Sea Harrier FA2. But I think C5s were acquired specifically for the F3 and Typhoon.
I’m aware of that but C&P AIM-9Li is still an option
9M also got Dechirped, but i dont remember on what.
I missed that bit. Dont get me wrong. I dont have issue with the F-16AJ solution. But if its a solution for one nation then it should be a solution for ALL nations. BAE EAP could have been added for Britain

Yeah, but I think when they were used on the FA2 and Gr7/9 only. But when used in Iraq (the only time the F3 was equipped with them) they kept breaking, so they just didnt continue to use them.
