They better don’t turn the current F.3 into a CSP
The F.3 is fine as it is at 11.3
At 12.3 though it would have the best BVR in the game, it wouldn’t even need to go into a dog fight. The only thing that could match it is the MiG-29 but that would require it to maintain a lock.
I don’t think that’s the issue though. I don’t think they want even the AOP version.
of course a real fighter would be prefered, but i meaned if they are stuck with another missle truck they dont want the freaking CSP

I would prefer if one of the Phantoms was given AIM-9Ls and moved up to 11.7, but anything that makes Britain stronger would work.

What makes it such a good BVR plane over F16?
The radar is good but not great. F16Cs is pretty comparable.
It can carry a max of 4 AMRAAMs
Its slower than anything else at 12.3 unless you begin counting AV8B+
It cant notch or crank due to its bad handling
Its launch cues will be delayed owing to it being a heavier and slower jet compared to F16C or M29 who can sling AMRAAMs further
It would be a BVR machine but the best? Not a chance.

i really dont see gaijin adding the gripen or aim120/r77 next patch, wishful thinking but unlikely imo
If it did - totally. But I doubt it. Really to make FSP or CSP viable, it would need decompression
Pretty sure Gripen has been confirmed for this year by Gaijin themselves.

M8 with all due respects gaijin could give a two if the game is ready or not.
