16c and smt were added because theyre most likely gonna be test beds for arhs, like we’ve seen in internal testing (9m+aim 120 vs r73+r77)
the reason they also exist is to push gen 4 as far as possible to let other countries get their equivalent gen 4s too (as seen with britain, which is still lacking a good equivalent)

It’s the christmas update, people spend a lot of money around christmas. So Gaijin wants to add a lot of hyped stuff this update. It’s not a coincidence that the december updates usually bring a lot of hyped vehicles, new ranks or new trees. And a lot of premiums. To sell stuff.
