Next Major Update - "Eagle's Shadow" Rumour Roundup & Discussion (Part 2)

It’s Mitsubishi F-X (the 5th gen one, just to avoid confusion with ongoing 6th gen F-X / GCAP). But I see where the comparison is coming from.

Though it's a lot more distinct from the front profile thanks to the way the tail is angled

(And yes, this was intended to have the blue wave camo similar to the F-2)

Just fix update only?

sound changes for the Hunter engine primarily

Hmm maybe, only if the abrams are nerfed to 5.5 seconds with them.

Also we see other buffs for the worse tanks at top tier to try and off set the leo getting even stronger. I know the challangers should have a bigger ready rack and the ariette has under preforming armour

It came quite late for 5th gen, at a time when 6th gen projects were already being started by other nations. Very similar to the Type 74 tank, which also was rather advanced for its generation but came just before the world had moved on to the next. Unfortunately this is why it was eventually cancelled as well, and 6th gen development was started instead.

Though I don’t think it would be better than the F-22 in the game still, mainly since it would be very limited in weapons with no confirmed external load aside from ASMs. The only air to air loadout would be 2x AAM-5/5B in the side bays and 6x JNAAM (or 4x AAM-4/4B) in the main bays. This is about in line with the F-22s internal load, but can’t keep up with full external loadouts and with F-22 still receiving newly developed weapons like the AIM-260 and so on it would end up having superior missiles too.
Air to ground is also limited, with only two Mk.82 bombs fitting each main weapons bay (sacrificing all missiles in there, though one bomb + one missile should be possible) and 4 ASM-3s carried externally. The F-22 has more versatile options here too.

Sure, if tanks like the Chally 2s and Leclercs hand in their respectively lowered BRs that they got due to the Abrams having a 5 second reload.

is there a chance the Tornado GR1 might be considered for this as well?

giving it the option to either mount no LGB or IR missiles to put it at a lower BR, mount only IR missiles for a slightly lower BR and then what we currently have with the option for a posbly slightly higher BR with AIM-9 L/i’s

Should just be reverted back to 6s

if the BR gap was larger sure but it isnt so right now the BR gap should be larger or the abrams should have a reload nerf

Never should of actually got the reload buff in the first place

agreed but now if they are to remove it the worse tanks in the top tier bracket need to give something up apparently

I hope we see more soon of that Tiger II model, and potentially a JagdTiger

Yeah, and adjust the BRs of some tanks like the 12.0 Challys up to 12.3.

The early chally 2s have been hilariously strong and easy to play at 11.7 and especially now 12.0 for a long time now.

The fact that the British players seemed to struggle so much with them is one of the things that really ruined their “skilled playerbase” image for me.

the M1A1 still sits at 12.0 and is better in every way to the challenger 2s at 12.0 so I dont really see your argument here, I also dont see why you are bringing up the whole skilled playerbase thing

Probably just going to be regular copy and paste

One stupidly strong tank being at a BR doesn’t suddenly make another tank not stupidly strong. Chally 2 has an alright chance of overtaking a hypothetical 6 second reload M1A1 as the best 12.0.

If playerbase that generally considers themselfs highly skilled struggle with the 11.7-12.0 chally 2s, that seriously ruins their claim.

looking at every 12.0 MBT left in the game you get

M1A1
T72B3A
the Challenger 2s
Type 90s
Ariettes

right now I would argue tier list goes something like this
M1A1
Challenger 2s / Type 90
Ariettes
T72B3A

if they moved the top BR up again by 0.3 I could see the challenger 2s and M1A1 going to 12.3 while the rest stay at 12.0 but right now I dont see a reason to move them until that happens

The top BR wouldn’t even have to move up, the 12.0 Chally 2s and M1A1 are already at least on par with all of the current 12.3s, possibly even better than some.

Hell the same can be said when comparing the Chally 2s and M1A1 to a bunch of 12.7 MBTs, but I’m not going to go that far. 12.3 would be enough for now.
