ASRAAM’s motor burns for just over 3 seconds. If you think the motor is responsible for the heat then how is ASRAAM so much hotter than Meteor which has a motor that burns for well over a minute. It seems likely to me that the numbers being referred to are aerodynamic heating. Especially given the following slides are dedicated to ASRAAM’s and Meteor’s heat shields and how they responded to external heating (basically immersing the motors in a 900° flame and seeing how long they last - ASRAAM survived for around 1 minute in 900°C flames before the case started to weaken and the fuel ignited).
ASRAAM’s motor uses SSL laminate (strips of ultra high strength steel) for it’s structural strength. The inside is coated with a thin layer of rubber to protect the SSL from the burning fuel (which last 3 seconds). The SSL motor case is then protect on the outside by a dual layer cork and GRP heat shield to protect from aero heating. It seems they were more concerned with aero heating then the temperature of the internal fuel burning (consider that missiles like MICA do not have a dedicated external heat shield - just an internal lining)

Not really, MICAs have a very short range against maneuvering targets, and are extremely easy to accidentally dodge past like 30km.

CAPTOR-E Mk0 (functionally identical to the Mk2 in game currently) has been in service with Kuwait and Qatar since 2021 ish and test aircraft for the Mk1 and Mk2 being around for a few years.
Same exact addition just a f15
Eurofighter with the Mk1 radar didn’t fly until months after. Mk2 won’t fly for another like 2 years
