New T-80 BVM reverse

As the Zvezda itself said as T-80BVM on the tile and description, they just called as new kind of ‘BVM’. Currently SOSNA-U is out of stock afaik, so just different gun and different thermal sight would be cause of shortage of stock

that still makes it a BV upgrade lol, its not an M

Well Zvezda, which is under Russian goverment control, call it BVM. So you go there and protest ‘Hey its BV obr. 2023. It’s not BVM’

Its basically a poor mans BVM with a new reverse gear

The vehicle in the video btw, upon measuring the distance it travelled with the known length between the first and last roadwheel, was moving at the speed(s) of:

32 / 25 ≈ 1.28 seconds
0.003931 km / 1.28 seconds = 0.0041375 km/s ≈ 11.05 km/h

for 29 Frames: ≈ 12.18 km/h

Dunno where they got the speed of ~25kph from. It has the same or just slightly better reverse speed than the existing T-80 MBTs.

It seems that those person speaking said so.

He was lying in that case. Unless Russia measures kph in a different way, anybody’s guess at this point… one thing for sure, the T-80 from the video was not moving at the speed he claimed.

Well, he just read script, as Zvezda is official TV channel of Russian Ministry of Defence. So it would be Ministry of Defence lying, or they actually change the transmission.

Though I think they really change transmission as in those video, they said "When tanks has to wtihdraw, reverse speed is very important’. It seems they atleast learn something from war.

In the video they say “during special mission operations another technical feature has been revealed, reverse speed is far greater, we will test it now” couple seconds later they reach 25km/h. So it is questionable if they are talking about specifically this new modification or about all T-80BVMs in general

Its a BVM, check ur sources, it is upgraded version of BVM which is upgraded version of BV.

Lol, what? No. Is it state TV channel? Yes, cos it’s sponsered by it. Official channel of MOD? No. It’s just mass media.

Official russian factory representatives call it BVM, every russian source call it bvm, they are not using Sosna-u because it has french parts that they cannot use because of sanctions. Do some real research

They clearly did not reach 25km/h. Possible it will be a modification for a future production lot, maybe not… just so everyone knows, the BVM in the video has the same reverse speed as every other T-80 which is 11kph.

Russia has been producing copies of French thermals for a long time already (FEM-10) and even its own 3rd gen FEM-18. And T-80BVM and T-72B3 with Sosna are still produced.

They measured speed of tank by measuring speed of car, so it’s just mass media being mass media

28:12 time code is when it shows it supposedly reversing with 25kmph speed, footage seconds earlier showed it running 10kmph as a narrator said

They need to import some parts from france in order to keep production up, if they were able to produce it they wouldn’t switch to worse russian thermals

No. Both variants with Sosna and PN96 are produced at same time.
