There is no modification, other than a software update needed to for it to work with the system, that is installed automatically when connected to the rail. You could be taking IRIS-T back and forth between Gripen and EldE, and it would be the exact same missile, working with both.
Then how come they couldn’t afford a truck to mount it on?

they bought the SLM system as well that missle will likely also be called the rb98
aim 9l and aim-9m in swedish service were both called rb74 without any distinction
