Another update and still no changes for Air Sim Brackets.
Ever since the introduction of 14.0, it has been entirely possible to add new SB brackets that properly accomodate 12.3 and 13.3 into the rotations. We have had 1 major update and 2 BR changes and yet nothing has changed, nothing has been fixed and we are even seeing the possibility of needing 14.3 this major update with the introduction of Aim-120C5s
As it currently stands, 12.3 aircraft can only fight against 12.7 or 13.0s which effectively makes all 12.3 aircraft 12.7. It also means that 12.0 aircraft only get a single rotation where they can face downtiers and remain somewhat effective, the other 3 rotations they are facing either 12.7 or 13.0 aircraft where they are notably weak.
Additionally. 13.3 aircraft are forced to exclusively fight top tier aircraft and none stand much of a chance. As a result, several 13.3 aircraft have moved down to 13.0 recently and the result has been that many 13.0 aircraft now struggle when fighting aircraft that should not be the same BR (F4F-ICE vs Sea Harrier FA2 for example)
My proposal is to add new SB brackets that would look like this:
This would add the necessary 12.3 rotation and 2x 13.3 rotations. This would also require some 12.3 and 13.0 aircraft to be re-adjusted to 12.7 and 13.3 respectively
Separating Fox 1 launchers and Fox 3 launchers is not really necessary. Aircraft like Mig-29, Su-33, F-16A ADF, F-15A, F-18A, Grippen A, Mirage 2000 etc can easily fight and defeat them, the idea is still to have a rotation allowing all Br to be competitive from time to time
Just one more small observation. Only 2 or 3 nations have 13.3 vehicles. The feeling that comes over me when I see the 12.3 ~ 13.3 rotation is: I want to be on the red side, fly my SU-33 and hit the 12.3 hard. Man, there’s a lot of difference in armament, it’s even unfair.
Yes, of course, if I had that rotation I would fly on the red side with the SU-33, but that wouldn’t bring me any pleasure.
Except that there aren’t going to be many 12.3 aircraft flown in that bracket to begin with? It’s not like it’s a random matchmaker, anyone flying 12.3 in a 13.3 lobby is doing it entirely by choice.
Yes indeed there are only 3 nations with 13.3 (Russia, Great Britain and China) and indeed it would be absolutely too powerful against 12.3. But it’s the same thing at all Br (there are only 2 or 3 12.0 planes that demolish all the planes in 11.0 when the bracket is between 12.0 and 11.0). In any case it is normal that the planes being at the lowest Br of a bracket are less good and generally few people play the planes of the lowest Br in the games
We should also separate Fox 2 and Fox 1 missiles as Fox 1s have an obvious range advantage! In fact you can hit the Fox-2 Carrier before they can lock you!

There would be absolutely no difference in armament, it would be fair. Right now at 13.0 blue side planes have full loadouts of sparrows and aim9m. The su27 wouldnt demolish absolutely anything, it’s a plane on the same level of the f15, gripen and f18, that by the way also has 4x datalink fox1 but at 12.7. Other than that, blue side has the kfir with 4x fox3, f14B and most of all the IRIAF with deadly fox3 and the harrier with 4xaim120.
So, if anything, the only thing that would make the su27 strong are the pilots, because people that play red are usually much better at the game than blue players.
then we can already have the 11.3 ~ 12.3. It will be fun to shoot down Mig-23s with the F-18. A fair fight. The Mig-23 also carries radar missiles. Everything remains the same.
F18 imho should be 12.7 the first and 13.0 the premium one. It’s a best of a plane. Amazing radar, very good armament, amazing dogfight performance. The only weakness it has is that it’s slow on a straight line. I’m probably gonna buy the german one when it comes out, because I had very few chances of using the american f18. I never find lobbies.
Also, i see that you havent played anything really at high tier. Su27 is greatly overestimated for what it is, it’s not really that strong as some people say. It’s a good plane if you know how to fly it, obviously, but it’s comparable to the premium f18, which in turn is much easier to use. The main problem with the su27 is that it really bleeds a lot of energy and you have to be careful in a dogfight, it’s not as easy to use as an f16 or f18. It feels more similar to a delta wing, just to give you an idea.
Well, any plane kicks ass when it’s top tier compared to the lower tier planes…in a 11.3 lobby, simply put, I wouldnt fly a 10.3 (unless we’re talking about cas planes) I’d pick an 11.3 or an 11.0 myself as well.
in general tho, I really dont find the mig23 to be that good. The flight model now is much worse than it used to be, so is the radar now that you cannot freely use MTI anymore; and frankly, most of the times when I play red at 10.3 to 11.3 I go for the chinese planes, like f5 or j7. The j7 is much stronger than the 23, I’d pick that plane any day over the 23. On blue side, over the mig23 I would fly the f5 and the kfir canard.
Of the planes that can be on both sides, the viggen is the strongest at that br, and the french have the mirage 3E that I also personally prefer over the mig23. Another very strong pick is the japanese F1 (with rockets as flares) because it’s absolutely dangerous in a dogfight.
Frankly, again, I really dont think that the 23 is a great plane anymore. I barely fly it. if you look at my profile, most of the kills I have with that were made a loong time ago when it was much much better. Now it’s meh, there are better alternatives both on red and on blue side. If you want to make a mig23 cry and you can buy a premium, get the kfir.
Very. Dont buy it, buy the german one when it comes out. Finding match on red side is a lot easier.
Yeah, that was kinda the point I was making. It sounded like he was saying there shouldn’t be a 11.3 - 12.3 bracket because it would be unfair for the 11.3s to have that kind of uptier
