New RWR Interface

[Would you like to see this in-game?]
  • Yes, make the interface cleaner and remove the useless aircraft outline and add a crosshair in the middle (or re-use the F-15C cockpit RWR interface which is already in the game).
  • Yes, but keep the aircraft outline in the center and modify it and add angle marker lines on the inside of the inner ring.

The angle markers on the RWR interface are on the outer ring.

This was OK when we only had the older gen RWRs that couldn’t show the signal strength / relative distance, since the RWR contacts would be shown near the outer ring of the RWR interface anyways.

But now that we have RWRs that can show the signal strength / relative distance, this is a bit problematic when trying to notch, because the missile or radar lock is usually near the inner circle, while the angle markers are on the outer circle.

So is would be beneficial to have angle markers on the inside of the inner circle, to make it easier to get into and maintain the notch angle, by lining up the lock indicator line with the angle markers on the inner circle.

Or even better yet, it would be much better if you removed the aircraft outline from the middle of the RWR interface (as it hardly serves a purpose), which unnecessarily takes a lot of space on the RWR display, and instead use an interface similar to what you have for the cockpit RWR MFD in the F-15C. I.e. a cross in the middle. This is a much cleaner, easier to read interface and uses the space on the screen much more efficiently:

And since you already have the interface in the game for use inside the cockpit MFD, it shouldn’t be too difficult to use it for the HUD / 3rd Person view RWR overlay as well.

Might be best for it to be histroically accurate

Well, feel free to make a suggestion for that, I wouldn’t necessarily mind historically accurate RWR interface for each plane.

But right now all planes use the same RWR interface (Which only depends on the type of the RWR and its capabilities, rather than its historical interface).

I think this decision was made to simplify the game and make it easier for the players to adapt and play many different aircrafts and different nations, by having a unified interface for radar and RWR and WCS etc.
