New Run of Nuclear Escalation!

Lol and you clearly haven’t played bluefor either this time around. The gbu 53s only launch on gps guidance at those ranges, until they get close enough for the seeker to lock the target (around 10-15km) and that obviously isn’t going to work on a moving target. And IR munitions are completely incapable of hitting convoy targets right now, so if you want to hit the convoys, you have to take laser guided weapons.

That was because of a bug.

And thats because the SPAA’s are still a bit overtuned, still hyper aware of everything, even stuff out of their search radar radius, able to see/shoot through entire forests, and have no reaction time (and slightly unrelated but they often have invisible missiles as well due to server desync issues). Hopefully most of this will get addressed for the next round of NE.

And don’t worry, Russia has something somewhat similar to the GBU-39 (a little bit larger though), so I expect it will probably be added sometime soon.

Yeahnope…
It’s 12.0 . I made a test with various 12.0s ALWAYS tossed me at the 12.0-13.0 bracket. Though i’ve seen many 12.0s in the lower bracket as well. I suppose F-4S as 12.0 has the same thing going.
So it’s not that it “clubs” , more it “clubs” or gets “clubbed”. I would avoid play 12.0 .

So I played a ton of Nuclear Escalation as 13.0-14.0 bluefor jets, and I just wanted to say for one I think the S300 is a bit overpowered. Instantly lock ons from takeoff. Very annoying having an s300 missile on you nonstop. All my flying is dictated by dodging this gliding missile. Even when hugging terrain.

I spent a long time messing with my F16CM and discovered that the 2x HARM + 6 AGM65D loadout was incredible. The point gain from this with a good pilot literally exceeds what I could get by dropping 600pt nukes and rearming. You attack the convoys. HARMs and maybe 1 extra AGM on the SPAA and the rest on vehicles. Line up for best attack angles for tanks. The only time I stopped using this thing was when I could run 2-4 600pt nukes back to back on risky suicide runs to help the team win.

I then spent even longer using this to grind out the F15E and all its modifications. With its serious bomb loadout, it could do something well that F16 couldn’t, bombing depots. With the F16 I was just endlessly killing spawning vehicles. With the F15E, the attacks were harder and riskier, but the point gain was much much less in general. The F15E though can clear out the area of threats that will hinder a nuke run with all your points a lot more effective than the F16CM, which although showers you in points, you get them by killing the endlessly respawning units so when you go to fly a nuke in its full AA waiting.

I think there is probably too much points from attacking the re-spawning ground units, and not enough points for destroying the depots. You would think cutting off the actual source of the vehicles and AA itself would yield a better reward then just hitting the convoys but it does not. I was often pulling double to quadruple the points hitting the convoys versus hitting the depots, even after practice.

Also, another point of annoyance, and which I saw tons of complaints of, is high altitude red side jets shooting down blue side deep in friendly territory. There are a lot of players doing this over and over. Between these guys and the eternal s300 chase missile, there was a lot of annoying deaths.

I still had a lot of fun though - I played a lot. I will now be taking a break to play Halo. Until the next of Nuclear Escalation!

Lmao, i was murderimg buks m3 with gbu39 while everyone was calling them OP.

You are free to let everyone see your 30+ air 2 ground streak using kh38. The last guy who posted anything did 5 kills with kh38 the whole match, thinking it was a good result.

This was against su30sm2 and bukm3 the first modern NT iteration:

You probably didn’t even get such results with the blue side, let alone the red side lmao.

Feel free to post proof of you doing anything worthy with kh38.

You seem to have no idea what i was talking about.

Gbu53 never uses gps guidance, as any IR+GPS weapon the IR overrides the GPS at launch.

I was not talking about killing convoys at70 km, but about the possibility of using the IR point lock to launch the gbu53 at fixed targets from further than 30km AND the possibility of using the gbu53 against moving targets.

I was not talking about those 2 possibilities togheter, if you ever used such weapons effectively, you would’ve known because they are 2 very different attack profiles.

Even just saying the gbu53 uses GPS lock is idiotic, then saying i did not play blue lmao, you cannot even follow a simple discussion on such weapons without allucinating a whole argument in your head and i am the one not knowing things?

Fab did not go through because of a bug bet because the IA look-up table for interception priorities did not contain bombs larger than 1500kg.

Also, i have not had that much faith in the umpb d30sn. Things like kh59mk2 and kh69 could even the playing field.

With GBU-39 is still needed to do saturation attacks or they are not intercepted at all?

Ofc gaijin give me almost ended lose against +1br with 500rp booster… Thank you so much idi***

Launched correctly they do not get intercepted against S300, against depots sometimes a couple get intercepted.

8gbu39 are enough for the 3 sams at depots or the whole s300 battery

Well in that case D-30SN is quite questionable if it will be solution. Depends how it will be implemented. If it will have reduced RCS, how much of them we will get and how they will work against much stronger blue side SAMs. On photos there is always only 4 of them on wing pylons. Theoretically it should be possible launch them also from hull pylons (so 8 in that case) but not sure about that.

As far as i see, on su34 they go on normal bombs pylons so a minimum of 6, never seen them being carried between the nacelles.

Also they are much bigger than gbu39 so i don’t see gaijin giving them lower priority.

Stealth cruise missles may make the small diameter bomb obsolete for long range strikes and those have counterparts in all nations.

Cool, again, I was talking about the low tier bracket. Maybe learn how to read the response instead of trying to one up people with a screenshot that doesn’t matter.

Fair, i was working and got distracted, with the quantity of complaining on the blue side sometimes you get lost.

Also the tornado has like 9 ALARM? Germany has su22s and the US has gbu39 and jsow even in the lower brackets…

Why the heck cant naval jets spawn on aircraft carriers???

Fix that, please. i dont want to spawn in Egypt with the Tornado MFG

Since the event is ending soon (3 hours left as of writing this) I just want to give my final points of feedback, though ive already sent a bit so ill be somewhat more brief and broad in my feedback.

REDFOR:
I think Redfor is in a position where it is still technically stronger than bluefor, but also lacks certain capabilities.
The bluefor SAM sites are laughably weak, as when playing redfor you can generally fly high without ever really being shot at, let alone killed by them.
Redfor gets vastly superior AshM and ARMs, with them being extremely fast and only needing to be within roughly 30km to kill the target. (The kh31AD AshM are just completely overpowered compared to bluefor counterparts, managing to kill the carrier with ease)
That said I do think redfor could use more A2G munitions, as the bluefor side currently has a lot more options in this regard.

BLUEFOR:
Bluefor has the most amount of tactics available to them, though most of them are pretty mediocre.
The best thing bluefor has going for it are the small diameter glide bombs and JSOWs, which can pretty consistently take out a SAM site (if you know its location, which means you have to get within 30km, often needing to closer due to cloud cover).
That said the bluefor side is completely incapable of flying even remotely high due to the S300 sites, only being able to do so after they have been destroyed.
Not to mention the redfor players who can fly high sending down r77s and pl12s to kill people who fly low.

OVERALL:
I think the gamemode is getting better but still needs more balancing in regards to each sides SAM sites, as well as adding more munitions to both sides (possibly even adding munitions previously not added due to them being unfair in GRB, and limiting them to Nuclear Escalation only).
Nukes are currently too easy to get and use, as they are on agile fighters and are basically a better option to any other weapons available. I recommend removing them from the mode or making them harder to get/putting them on larger, possibly slower planes such as bombers.

The early brackets are generally a lot more fun due to not having to deal with active radar homing missiles but lack the amount of munitions at the higher tier, it would be good to see more munitions added to the lower BR bracket so there are more options for them as well.

There are also still a few bugs to work out, one example i had the most trouble with being the carrier spawn breaking after taking one missile hit, though I’m sure they’re going to fix those before the mode becomes permanent.

As for the rewards, they are pitiful, I understand gaijin doesn’t want people to get extreme amounts of RP or SL from the mode as it isn’t balanced yet. But if I didn’t have premium I would be losing a metric ton worth of SL each match (often making 0 SL solely because of the premium compensation not allowing me to earn negative SL) and the RP gain for 45-60 mins of gameplay just isn’t enough compared to ARB. (Sinking the redfor carrier in the early era, only being worth 30 RP is ridiculous)

thats because the tornado mfg isnt on carriers or can take off from carriers in real life as germany doesnt have carriers.

good thing this is a video game, then! Or did the German airfields IRL deny takeoff for minutes due to being shot down by enemy fighters over the sea?

I’m just telling you why gaijin didn’t give it a carrier spawn my dude, not like I’m opposed to it getting one.

Are corvettes the Lutjens or the Californias?

You cant spawn on them because the Tornados are not carrier-capable. But you can land on them!

Unfortunately, it’s only the Tornado GR.4 that gets the ALARMs so she’s in the higher bracket (as the BR for her is 12.3). I’d personally say eh on the GBU-39s only because they don’t do any damage against the forward bases (like the fuel depot, ammo depot, repair depot) because the HE warhead is too small while the only low tier JSOW carrier is the premium AV-8B (NA).

Because the bracket is 10.3-12.0 that I’ve been doing, the only one that gets ARMS worth anything is Russia (Su-17M4, Su-25SM3, Su-39, Su-25T, Su-24M and the MiG-27K). The only ones BLUEFOR can get, unless I missed one in the bracket range b/c I just found out today the AV-8B has them, is the German Su-22M4 for Germany (which is the single band KH-58U and Kh-27PS) and the AV-8B (NA) for the US (which gets the super short-range Sidearm). Not even China gets them at that BR (the soonest they get it is 12.3 with the JH-7A). Honestly, I would either have Gaijin add the AGM-45 Shrike or the AGM-78 Standard to equal the playing field a bit or just move the other ones up into the other bracket if they have the mutli-band KH series (so the Su-17M4, Su-24M and MiG-27K could stay). Just my take on it b/c I was watching them slam our mid range Ai like 2 minutes into the match as we’re still trying to just get over no mans land.

Something that I could see helping overall is increasing the range where the TGPs work. The 30km max range to lock targets is pretty abysmal.
