You can set poi’s on map while gaining alt and speed anyway. And being slower is payment for having 22 potential kills. You would need 11 sorties on kaira to achieve that. And you are limited to radars. While a10 can use gps bombs on anything and 6 mavs on moving targets.
Not that harder. It requires bit preparation (setting poi on map and gaining alt/speed) but still piss easy to pull. But as I said before harriers and warthogs output more kills each sortie so its kinda balanced. Faster but less kills and slower but more kills.
You can use gbu39 to take out that sam and then use agm65 on other units preferably moving ones.
I would love to be able to place markers on the map so precise that I get direct hits with 20kg warhead bombs. But TGP is just better at that. Unless you are setting 10 markers to carpet bomb the area, but then you are not talking about 22 kills, not even close in fact. Also in terms of speed there isn’t much to gain, really.
That implies that the SAM is stationary while other targets are not. Have you seen convoy compositions? Because the above implication is usually not true at all.
Its possible with full zoomed map. Usually bombs right next to aa.
Requires you to be within 30km and face enemy.
Would be waste of bombs.
Bad wording on my part. You can use gbu39 on stationary things and save agm65s on moving targets. Moving aa can be killed with gun then you can kill armored targets with agm65 or you can gamble with agm at closer range.
And Im still curious about your opinion on paywall (why does it matter).
To my knowledge with really good launch parameters (M0.9, 7-8km alt) 39’s only travel about 45ish kilometres. Safe to say A10 isn’t reaching those, not even close, so launching from >30km doesn’t make much sense.
Because saying “blues have JSOW at 11.0-12.0” while technically true, is also dishonest in a way akin to “stock grind is easy because you can just GE all the mods”. Absolutely true, but also disconnected from reality.
No need to launch from there, you can just gain alt further from aa and get closer once you set up all poi for salvo launch. Sitting in tgp and clicking stuff one by one takes much more time considering amount of munitions.
Im looking at it from balance perspective.
Considering we are playing game where to be human you need to invest money, its as connected to reality as its possible. Even to grind that mig27 you need premium/premium time/free time for grind/ge for mods. Or you can go through free to play hell. And judging by amount of time people spend in premiums and prices of those premiums, ppl prefer first option. At least for high tiers which can participate in this event.
If the balance perspective revolves around if a player decided to drop 60-80bucks on a vehicle otherwise not that great in normal air battles then I don’t think there’s much of balance left to talk about.
Especially when the above only applies to blue side, as kh31’s are not premium-exclusive.
Ability to have more than 2 arms is locked behind su39. And, in theory, ability to mix 2 bands for kh31, mig27 cant do that just like su24 and su17 cant mix kh58 (while su25t and su39 can). And kopyo radar pod for r73 slaving.
RWR definitely needs a rework to be able to filter what is actually a threat at launching you and what is launching on your teammate 20 miles away. I have my RWR sensitivity set to 60% and I still have constant launch warnings from S300s the second I go above 50m, yet I can look at them off in the distance and see their missile trails going in a completely different direction from me.
Technically, GBU53/Spice250 have MITL option. However, seeker restriction means any attempt to use it bricks the bomb, as it continues high loft-vertical drop trajectory, while unable to look down.
And when rewatching usage in Sensor View, Spice250/GBU-53 launched through Aiming Point fly on IOG (and GNSS I presume) on entire flight until it enters dive, then switches to TRK on whatever it finds in provided location.
Gaijin simply applies multiplier to the ordnance, so they could go with 0.4-0.5 or something similar, compared to 0.3 on GBU-39/53/Spice250 or 0.1 on JSOW. They also could lower “RCS” for 500lb equivalents when they are at it.
Italian Tornado with four wideband, IOG capable HARMs, GBU-39 as an option and actual modern RWR, bringing more ARMs than everything Russia have until 13.7 or paywalled Sus39:
Honorable mention goes to A-10C, carrying 24 GBU-39s and supreme targeting pod, or mix of 39s, 64 and 62 for every target of opportunity. Flight model is lacking for long range bomb launches, but something like 3000m, 450kmh TAS already outranges Osas with healthy margin.
These are far from “really good launch parameters”. Replace altitude with 11km+ then you’re talking.
Spice250/GBU53 have no issues fondling S300 site 70km away when dropped at 12km alt and still having ample altitude as they enter final dive. 39 shares their flight characteristic
