"new" line of sight SACLOS NERF needs to be reverted, its ahistorical

most ATGM’s and SACLOS SAM’s were struck with an update that really no one wanted or asked to be implemented, most if not all the early SAM platforms that uses semi automatic missiles are useless meanwhile gaijin told us it was an historical fix (it wasnt) that missiles should be unresponsive like this when VT-1’s, roland 3’s, 9m311 and MIM146 SAM’s are modern ones that fixed these issues present on VERY early ones.

While we’re on the topic of fixing missiles, let’s talk about why countermeasure resistant missiles….arent.

that’s easy to explain, pre flaring makes you lock into the flares before launching but the IRCCM works well if the enemy doesnt pre flare

I, and almost every single user of stingers/Chaparrels in game have a very different experience than you.

I routinely watch airplanes defend by doing nothing more than punch a pair or 4 flares and slightly turning or pulling up resulting in a miss. Often they don’t even come off burner/reheat.

IR missiles are badly bugged.

Just had a match where a stinger couldn’t lock onto a Tiger @2.9-3.1 KM. No flares, from below and to the side and still couldn’t get a lock.

It’s utterly indefensible. It’s just shitty Dev work

helicopter IR signatures are unrealistically low in WT.

this has been a long issue and even bug reported… no work from gaijin though

Oh I know, I was just laughing at the guy saying it was easily explainable as pre flaring 🤣

that’s quite a different situation, you should have specified which missile you were mentioning since there’s AAM and SAM.

any missile regardless of IRCCM is fooled by pre flaring, the other thing is heli heat signatures that are bugged and gaijin wont fix it, MANPADS are infamously bad when you face pre flares since they dont have optical locks like the STRELA or the anthelope

I’m unsure of what that has to do with the fact that IRCCM isn’t functioning but ok

it is functioning, IRCCM only works when you launch it correctly and can ignore flares unless the enemy cuts throttle and turns off the afterburner but the MANPADS are currently crap because of other factors and not IRCCM

Again. Your statements, and the experiences of essentially every NATO AD missile slinger are at odds.

Every single day, multiple times a day I watch jets successfully defend from IRCCM missiles with nothing more than flares.

Somewhat related, does anyone else have a bad time with R73/R27? I feel like they really like eating flares, regardless of what range or angle I fire them at…

R27 works better at rear aspect than all aspect, R73 is better used at close quarters but i always thought they were kinda crap since they got introduced

It was a bit heartbreaking getting to top tier and having them welcome me… at least I have Magic 2 to comfort me.
