Well desert maps (not clear in image the type of terrain) are few and far between, yes you can detect tanks and aa systems easier than on other maps its a given. But detecting small white dots on the map especially when there are plenty of burnt out vehicles takes more than just a few seconds. The launchers will set off if an aa radar system is tracking you massive difference in targeting and tracking manual vs automatic.
The solution would be as stated above spawn planes from 40km away allow them to maneuver set up and then try and pick those sam launchers out. That is significantly better than just spawning 13km away from battlefield and being locked on instantaneously and have 3 IRST missiles, Slamrams, Pantsir if you like etc. fired at you.
Even if the R-27 Er is faster, that missile is good in a different game mode called air rb, it has nothing to do with ground targets. 27 ER is launched from an altitude these are launched from the ground. You do realize that IRST missiles have much better tracking and are harder to evade than R-27 ERs?
I might have exaggerated with the 5 seconds comment but it is not much of an exaggeration given the reaction time needed when spawning 13km away from battlefield.
If these systems are 13.0 then F-18s at 12.3 are within range including other planes.
You guys forgot that with good anti CAS systems you make CAS basically unplayable. This means you have no targets to shoot at because people doesn’t want to spawn a 1000SP plane and got smacked from the air right after. No targets means boring gameplay and this render your new shiny additions basically irrevelant, boring and impossible to grind. It’s not LAV-AD when you can just drive around and make MBTs frustration going high. With my experience when I spawn Pantsir, o see other 3-4 Pantsir system all shooting at the same target and clearing up the sky in mere seconds. Imagine 3-4 of these radar systems spawning 2 launchers each all just spamming 2 keys on keyboard and clearing all that can fly above 50m of the ground in 1 minute into the battle. And then what? You stuck into your “2 story Sam system” and sitting duck because no one want to spawn a cas plane and lose 1000SP. This alone make this systems boring. Clue is everything should be balanced but we play a ping-pong game with a ball being balance patch after patch.
Sure, but deploying counter measures against these missiles wont really help you. I play a few nations at top tier as well, my point is that both cas and ground aa should not have huge advantages over each other. Especially if two players can deploy 4 vehicles at various locations on the map add a 3 rd and 4th player and you have 8 launchers each around 8 missiles placed strategically around the map that is too much. On top of that the radar unit just has to lock on and 2 missiles from each launcher are heading towards the on coming plane. How will that work, multipathing and notching wont save you in such cases?
Well we know that if something is 12.3 these days it sees 13.0 majority of the time.
I get your point Cas has dominated alot these days, that is why these systems are introduced but, placing launcher vehicles should be limited , it can work outside the so called spawn area because it becomes too crowded I get it. However, that can only be placed max 1km from spawn area .
Well that is why I started this thread. There should be a balance between cas and anti cas. In ground rb both systems need each other to make this game mode interesting otherwise we will spawning vehicles that will become useless.
Very true, especially your point about larger maps and aircraft spawn. I like the idea of not nerfing something that is meant to be performing well, but it can get very overpowering we see that constantly in our game. The best solution is to come up with counter technology that can deal with it.
These systems will be 13.0, there isn’t a single plane at that BR that has low gen thermals.

Kh-38 is a guaranteed kill with just the push of a button, I think ground units deserve fnf weapons too.
Not a single plane what about the 12.3s dude they will get up tiered automatically, that is why I pushed this thread cause its not just 13.0 to 14.0 planes that will be affected.
Dude I don’t want them like a fish in a barrel, I said within 1km away from spawn area (deployment of launcher). Not around the hole map.
As for the KH-38, it is slightly harder to get a kill than these aa systems that you place around the map fired automatically at the lock of a radar system. (don’t get me wrong the KH-38 is relatively easy mode) But think about the rest of the planes and don’t just focus on one tech KH-38, they will be at an even bigger disadvantage.
I enjoy shooting down CAS. I enjoy blowing up tanks and spaa. I do CAP, CAS and i use the spaa. I die to people that use the same tactics. Where’s the problem. With only tanks the game would rapidly become dull, like ARB. The lack of objective makes it like that. Also, you can’t really hide in the sky, can you?
Look I started of entirely as a tanker, then graduate to air man. You should do the same it is much harder to learn and operate an airplane or helicopter in game than a tank. Even simple missiles like the fire and forget type require you to maneuver and fire off a missile at great speeds not at 35km or less or sitting still . AAs immediately track you and all they have to do is press one button and follow the aircraft. That is much easier than operating a straight forward system like the SU30 SM having thermal sights and KH-38. Even harder to pick out ground targets in a premium F-18 for example at 12.3 br. I use it in combo with my American top tier line up.
Remember getting to an aircraft like an F-15 or Su30 or Rafael/Eurofighter etc. takes way more than reaching top tier mbts. Being an ace like bad karma or hunter (famous content creators) takes quiet a lot of knowledge and skill in operating a pc or joystick at that level.
Dont take it as if you are destroying mbts they are just models, enjoy the game mode and learn a new way of playing the game.
Reaching cas top tier is a skill in itself, flying and getting frags in air is much harder, I can operate at low altitudes dont worry about that, I know notching and multipathing pretty well. But sitting like you on the ground and waiting to press a button and move 3 pixels does not require any effort.
It will when youre trying to get killed by aircraft and ground vehicles. Earlier it didn’t take any effort to deal with sams because their missiles weren’t even maneuverable enough to hit someone going mach 1 perpindicular. Now you have to rethink how you do cas because sams aren’t useless. You get to pick when and where and i get to pick when ill shoot and how much. Have fun
Ok do you fly in and participate in air battles as well as close air support? If you never did then it seems easy until you get in a plane it is harder than it looks. Of course its not that overly complex especially with the new missile systems and the way aa works at the moment. That will change I understand, that is not where the problem lies, you cant just pick spots on the entire map and place aa launchers where you want. Planes are not ground vehicles they cant hide behind trees. Once your launcher vehicles are out of map range they can only be controlled by ai (that means all you have to do is get a lock and automatically the missiles will be launched, even Mavericks and KH-38 are harder to launch than that)
Otherwise enjoy the game as well, if implemented correctly this update should be balancing things out.

yes you get a difficulty penalty on the technical side because you get to pick where and when to attack
Well flarak can hide in between buildings and trees do indeed make it harder to detect if there are other vehicles around the flarak I wont be able to lock on to you, hope for splash damage which is not a guarantee. On top of that you can pop smoke, by that time I will either be within range or have to disengage and re commit.
On top of that there might be a Itom or pantsir to help you out.
Sure Flarak is at a big disadvantage at this moment, wont dispute that, that is why new aa systems are being added. I have the flarak bus it is not great and not on par with cas but its too easy to play.
Well not completely, yes spaa are quite bad at the moment but that will change. I am sorry but at times you need to learn how to fly that is why it is called ground rb involves cas and helis. At times aa are weaker than planes and in irl in lots of circumstances that is the case, stationary targets are easier to hit. Not counting Patriot Pac3s, IRST, S-400, 300 and pantsir in combination with ground radar and AWACS then yes sam batteries have an advantage.
With ITOM I have been able to get several kills and VT-1 one or two kills a lot of times zero kills.
