New game mechanic: anti tank mines

Discussion for an anti tank mine game mechanic

My inspiration: I recently played a custom map with a friend where the mission was to advance across a desert, through some towns, and to an enemy military base all while fighting waves of enemies on the ground, in air, several Anti air artillery guns, etc. Through some of the parts there were IEDs (improvised explosive devices) on the ground. That’s when it got me thinking, what if mines were an actual mechanic in game. It would give use to some other vehicle modifications like the mine protection and dozer blades while also giving gaijin more vehicles they can add to lower tiers

1. Anti tank mine laying ground vehicles
Reason:
A. Some APCs are already modeled in game
B. Area denial in tactical positions or around capture points
C. Gives use for the addition of mine clearing vehicles/vehicles that have mine clearing modifications and vehicles that have the “mine protection” modification which otherwise is meaningless

3. Mine clearers and modifications
Reason: To remove the above mentioned mines and give use to otherwise useless modifications like the “mine protection” modification

All nations: plow/dozer blade modifications
There are lots of vehicles currently in game that can remove mines with the plow/dozer blade

All nations: Mine protection modifications
There are lots of vehicles currently in game that can be protected from mines through the mine protection modification and it would actually give a use for it.

Thats a Pz II.

Fixed

It’s fairly easy to do in in the CDK. For example, for one of my Sqn battles, I laid several minefields on the Normandy map and safe lanes were created for passage only with an AVRE (Petard in this case). They are an intersting mechanic for something fresh. You can also specify how damaged the vehicle will be. On another note, this is an example of how good the CDK can be (despite it’s floors) with a bit of imagination. Shame Gaijin don’t use it…

Would be fun in some maps and gamemodes surely, even funnier if you could change the explosion sound effect and it plays the fart with reverb.

Um…

Ah yes, because nothing says fun and engaging like having vast swaths of the map peppered in anti-tank mines that would send you to kingdom come for making the mistake of driving out of spawn.

How about NO?
