New Fuel Tanks

Hello everyone. I’m starting this thread to draw attention to something that hasn’t really made much noise during recent updates.

A few years ago, external fuel tanks were added to the game, initially in a limited capacity, with just one tank per aircraft, before expanding to allow multiple tanks per plane.

However, for nearly a year now, existing aircraft have stopped receiving new external fuel tank options; additions have been limited to newly introduced aircraft and their existing variants. This has left some aircraft in the game with incomplete loadout options.

That is why I’d like to take a look at the aircraft that deserve to receive additional fuel tanks, or to get them for the first time. I will try to update the list as we go if any aircraft are proposed.

(This list will be limited to the aircraft that really need them; I know many would like to have the tanks for the P-51s, but that is less of a priority.)

Do you think these aircraft deserve to receive new fuel tanks?

Most matches are too short for aircraft to need them, the internal fuel capacity is enough

yeah but nuclear thunder exists now

With Simulator mode and Nuclear Thunder, fuel tanks become necessary; certain aircraft run out of fuel very quickly (I’m thinking specifically of the F-105, for instance, with which I often return with only a few minutes or seconds of fuel left).

No external fuel tanks are why I don’t play F-104s that often.
That and the larger longer game modes.

Yeah, don’t know about others, but drop tanks for F-104s is a long overdue, on EC maps internal fuel is just not enough to be able to return to the airfield.

Could you please add the Rafale’s small auxiliary fuel tank to the list as well?

and the inverse of being able to remove fuel tanks from the F84s

Dont forget these certain aircrafts aswell

Usa: A4, F84F, F86
Germany: CL13, f86K, f84F, mig 19, mirage IIIS
USSR: mig 19, mig 29SMT
china: J6, mirage 2000EI
Italy: CL13, F86K
France: F86K, F84F
ISRAEL: shahak/mirage 3, nesher/mirage 5 copy, KFIR C.7, KFIR C.10

Most of these vehicles ive listed should be able to carry drop tanks on the wings too but they cant ingame

I routinely run external fuel tanks for the Typhoon, Tornado GR1/GR4 and F3 in ARB, and almost always run external tanks in ASB for even more aircraft, like the Jaguar. I can definetly see the need for them in NE soon, especially if we ever get a full-scale version

+1 Many of these aircraft deserve these additional fuel tanks, either due to their short fuel capacity or because their engines consume fuel too fast
