ehm…huh? us superiority? did i miss something? the us ships exploded with the first hit to the shell room for years now…the same thing that scharn and gneisenau and bismarck players are (somewhat rightfully) complaining about because its just a killswitch. but worse. because they just exploded without any fire to even extinguish. the scharnhorst was absolutely broken because u couldnt pen its turtleback even with a railgun with 2000 mm pen, especially at close range.
Was that annoying af to deal with? absolutely and it sucked any wish to play us battleships out of me. not sure at what point ur referring to they were dominating? Also i don’t see how repeating that for another two years in any form just with a different nation helps the gamemode or helps bringing in new players? maybe u can elaborate how for the entire 7.7-8.7 environment one ship being absolutely dominanat and in every metric at least as good as any contender (and in armor and survivability way better than every other ship) which all have massive drawbacks makes naval better? Will it be better at the point we are all playing the soyuz and only the soyuz and the team that has more players spawning a second time just wins? sounds like fun
Not just you. If HKReporter says it’s a bad idea, it’s a bad idea. Whatever the guy keeps browbeating and abusing people into voting for here, that basically guarantees it’s not taking the best interests of the players or mode into consideration.
All hail HK Reporter guardian of the bugtracker, savior of the naval.
Or you trying to say that that it his fault that we have current state of the naval modes? Two years of broken mechanics and closed tickets. For sure it helps making naval modes more interesting and playable.
well yeah rly? i grinded both tech trees f2p actually and germany with the prinz eugen…was fun as you can imagine. anyhow if you could switch your attention to the top of you browser window you could see this whole thread is about the new battleships which are all 8.0 to 8.7. I’m all in for discussing the rest of the BRs and i agree us is really strong there especially with destroyers with sap and anti fragmentation armor but no one else but you (apparently) is discussing this here?
quite a lot of them which part are you referring to?
yes, i saw it and everyone else here too (most likely). what about it? It’s still a killswitch for the scharn, gneisenau and bismarck especially because they have the shortest elevators which means usually (except for fires very low down that also almost instantly kill a lot of other ships-not the fuso though that thing is still floating with all but one mag exploded) they have the shortest or not enough time to cancel repairs/pumping to extinguish the fire otherwise they will explode as if theres no blast/fireproof doors at the barbette. Anyhow this mechanic could have been implemented years ago to sort of alleviate how strong the scharn was back then, together with maybe not spreading as fast to also give other ships (especially the us ones but also khron which is suffering from it) a couple of more seconds to be save, after that you would still have to repair. That would also deal with the problem that a lot of people dont have the best crews and all ships with crews that have low fire extinguish level are usually oneshots there. IMO it shouldn’t be an autokill to hit the barbettes of any of those ships, only if you fk up and ignore the fire for 5 seconds or something and fk up your damage handling (at that point it would kind of be nice to not have repairs and pumping as the same symbol so u lose important seconds to find out what you have to cancel btw snail)
Apart from that i have no problem with the machanic as it is (though now theres tons of ships that can deal with the scharnhorst anyhow)
You could try to play other nations to understand that Germas are far more survivable than most of them. With current bugged damage trough the barbets and decks.
somehow you always pull that accusation out of nowhere, its amazing. When i say i played and grinded japan u come up with it and when i say i grinded germany as well. Kinda interesting rly. Because germany and japan (to some parts) where as strong as they were there was no point grinding anything else (but maybe gb with rodney and hood) See the link to the soyuz situation?
And atm, no theyre are far from being more survivable to anything else. And largely because of this mechanic only
I explained and put my reasoning out often enough i’m not gonna explain it again. If you and the snail are fine with ending naval that way, go for it, idc. its a bit sad, but rly there are tons of other good games out there
What ending naval you talking about? There more than 8.7 in the game don’t you know? Try not to skip all the tree with single premium ship next time and you understand that there is a lot of fun in other nations and trees of the navy. You could even try Arcade and understand that there far more skill in it, than in RB sluggish soup with broken aiming.
Yeah yeah and 3 shell per minuts, and surviving 4 ammo explosions even before patch on some BB, but what do you know if you not playing them.
Yes some “standarts” is shit show, but.
They got best destroyers and cruisers(which can live longer than some BB) FYI. And atm Alaska and Iowa surviving like hell with same thing like some Germs, but what do you know.
because i play against them. Best way to deal with them is to take them out early, plunging fire is a bit more effective and their mediocre pen means their RoF is less of a problem.
I won’t defend Scharnhorst any longer though, as it was indeed the main balancing issue for the last 3 years, at least IMO
I did not play cruisers that much, but i don’t remember having a lot of issues with american cruisers when playing my Emile Bertin.
SU suffers so much they just got a ship that did not exist with a very generous interpretation of what it would have been.
Next thing you know they’ll get mach 3 AShM while everyone is stuck with subsonic ones, and their cold war ships, filled to the brim with highly explosive missiles, won’t detonate when hit for some reason.
Not that it matters because their “super radar” and “super SAMs” will shoot down any missile coming at them, while their 80s cruiser can still struggle with subsonic and contemporary Exocet-like type of missiles IRL.
See ? I too can make stuff up about an hypothetical future.
The “SU suffers” is a nice one, but quite honestly, when it comes to jokes, short and sweet is best.
treaty heavy cruisers at same BR with Emile Bertin could, but old days Baltimore at 5.7 and light cruisers at 6.0 not something that most of other 5.7 ~ 6.0 cruisers could fight against.
Not sure. We have case of Z47, which Gaijin implements ‘hypothetical’ AA conversion based on Z46.
And we have Project 23NU which is acutally designed(though not decided to apply to any of four ship laid down), unlike Z47…
