New apfsds to all top-tier MBTs

in recent updates MBTs at 12.7 got new apfsds as stock ammo, while those at the end of tech tree but at 12.3 BR did NOT get.

thats unfair for 12.3 MBTs

Which tanks are you referring to exactly? As far as I know, many 120mm+ MBTs already have APFSDS available as stock ammunition.

I might be missing some specific vehicles, but I don’t remember many top-tier MBTs that don’t get a decent stock APFSDS round?

They recently changed it so that some at 12.7 dont have quite as harsh a stock grind. Like for example the CR2BN and CR2E get L26 stock now, whilst the CR2, CR2F and CR2TES at 11.7 still have L23A1 stock.

I could see the argument that 12.3s probably shouldnt have quite as brutal of a stock grind either, if not everything at 11.7+ that can see top tier

If battle rating 12.3 get improved APDS-FS as stock available penetrator then battle rating 11.3 vehicles would ‘need’ as well, then battle rating 10.3 and so on because the grind is a pain in the ass—which is but defeats the point of spading your vehicles.

You are looking at entirely the wrong thing.

Its not about shell vs shell.

its about Shell vs armour.

I’ll use the Challenger 2s because I can talk about those easier than the others.

The 11.7 ones get L23A1 stock, this is a round found at 10.0/10.3, its fine at those BRs, but even going up to 10.7, then it becomes a notably weaker shell compared to L26. Going to 11.7, its a very weak shell, even in a 10.7-11.7 lobby, let alone in a 11.7-12.7 lobby.

L23A1 vs basically any top tier MBT is a total chore. So giving it L26 stock would be a notable improvement and not even that unreasonable, given that in a full downtier, you still have the same shell visible.

Swtich from talking about 11.7 and instead to 12.3… then the arugment just falls apart even more, because you arent necessarily talking about uptiers anymore, you are just talking about normal matches. Using shells massively below that BR, just for the sake of making the stock grind suck so you spend GE on it.

Improving the stock loadout of MBTs at higher BRs doesnt automatically mean that lower BR MBTs also need better shells stock, because the armour rarely changes between stock and spaded.

To be honest—fair enough; that’s on the original post. I personally never seen a need for improved stock penetrators for top tier vehicles, only the free availability of these was a community request which Gaijin did with M829, DM33 and 3BM42 being available for Rank VIII vehicles with some exceptions like M1A2 Abrams (Rank VII) and Challenger 2, Challenger 2 F and Challenger 2 TES (Rank VII).

I don’t see the need to extend this below top tier, this is the least difference from top tier to other vehicles below even in a battle rating 0.3 difference including the L23A1 example which I do acknowledge its lower performance in comparison to others penetrators;

I only see that, although making L26 available to another exclusive group of vehicles which again ignores the rules of only Rank VIII have APDS-FS penetrators available in stock this would naturally need that everyone else get it as well, a comparable tool at least, which is why I don’t think that is needed but rather expand further more the space in between battle rating’s vehicles, i.e. decompress.

just make NATO anti-ERA tips function. crisis averted

anti-ERA is a marketing lie from NATO, its impossible for them to have something so sophsticated
