NERA different values of RHAe thickness equivalents on the same tank

After doing some testing and math, apparently Gaijin thinks NERA can change capabilities just because it’s on the side of a tank. An example is the Leopard 2 where the side of the turret somehow has 0.54mm of RHAe per mm of NERA but the front has 0.46mm RHAe per mm of NERA which does not make much sense since you’d want better armor to face the enemy. This even applies to the Abrams with the side being 0.15mm RHAe per mm of NERA but on the front 0.42mm RHAe per mm of NERA. I’d understand if this was like half of the front of the turret but it’s almost 1/3 of it and the armor on the side isn’t even that much thinner and it gets even worse near the ammo at 0.08mm RHAe per mm of NERA when it has 350mm of NERA there. I then looked at other versions of the Abrams like the M1A1 which you’d think the turret would have the same value as its the same NERA just thicker, but no it has 0.21mm RHAe per mm of NERA on the turret cheeks despite being an upgrade. This doesn’t just apply to the leopard or Abrams, but any tank with NERA in the armor. I know NERA can change depending on how it’s made but I’ve seen pictures of the Abrams armor layout and it should be the same type of NERA but that big of a change seems ridiculous. Personally I think the leopard should have 0.54mm of RHA per mm of NERA on all its NERA and the Abrams 0.42mm RHA per mm of NERA. I don’t know for other tanks as I haven’t tested them yet but it’s a little ridiculous to think armor of similar thickness would drop by almost 1/3 its ability of protection. just want to hear what other people think about this as it just doesn’t seem correct.
