I’m in for this, anything that makes the game look better and have some more variation. It just shouldnt be as intrusive as current ARB clouds are.
Yeah, it would be pretty cool
Oh ok. It would still be cool if you saw it happen
Lmao real
Every time there are outcast/cloudy/rainy weathers in Ground Battles, the game just looks soooo good!
Yep, Weather + time of day is such a stupidly easy way to turn a few maps into many. Even though it changes basically nothing most of the time.
They removed most of the adverse weather conditions from the game, 9/10 battles happen around noon with clear skies. A couple of days ago I got an early evening/late afternoon game and I was completely elated, the lighting was so cool. My favorite time is dusk, which I have only gotten 2 of them in my 1000 hours of ground playtime.
really invite me to your games all i get is cloudy haze fog overcast lol
No.
why?
I hate foggy games, it makes thermals hard to use lol
well tornadoes in the back ground not the actual map. :D can a tornado even move a most tanks?
Absolutely hurricanes and tornadoes. I want TO FLY IN EXTREME WEATHER.
We definitely need more “fun” like this:
Thank you devs for making the game “fun”!
But seriously, I just pressed ESC and left the battle. I’ve been doing it more and more often lately when I see conditions like this. I play games for fun, not to suffer.
the waves were the best part.
hurricanes maybe tornadoes would just be kinda weird without map destruction like battlefield
Nope but it can certainly lift most of the wheeled SPAAs and maybe some light tanks
I don’t see any need for tornadoes with how hard they would be to code and how specific their damage patterns are, but there are multiple different weather events that would be epic for both naval and ground battles (maybe not so much for air).
Of course these could be custom-exclusive, not only preventing them from interfering with people who only wish to grind, but also giving another incentive to play custom in the first place.
Thunderstorms
By far the weather events I am most interested in, they would make an excellent addition to naval warfare.
Here is a mission from Battlestations Pacific (one of my favorite games of all time) set during the Battle of Cape Esperance in October of 1942. In real life the battle was not fought in a storm, but Battlestations decides to portray it as such, which makes for quite the fighting enviroment.
Since this game came out in 2009, it is understandable that there are no dynamic seas or winds, but overall the combination of extensive cloud cover and flashes of lightning give off a decent enough impression of a proper thunderstorm at sea. I believe that War Thunder is more than capable of presenting an even more convincing storm with choppy waves and howling winds.
First post from this guy I agree.
I want to see the storm and rain weather fixed first at least though.
