Need a tip on a good premium prop plane to do the challange

I don’t usually play only Air RB exclusively anymore, but now i need to do the battlepass challange, the one with no tracer 25 kills.

Got any extremely good plane for this? I wanted to take th A6M1 premium as i used it for farming the r2y2’s’s , but they uptiered that one and i’m not sure its viable anymore .
I’m more of a turn fighter , i used to boom and zoom but that was over 8 years ago when it was the meta with th dora bf 109.

Nowdays I play more jets and rockets,so i’m a bit out of loop on what’s good in mid to low tier AIR RB.

Oh and it has to be a premium , i’m farming SL’s

Could just do it in AB like everyone else, you’ll be done in a few games.

A good plane for this one though is mixed-cannon armament with 2 rifle-caliber MGs. Mid-range Spitfires, for instance. Put the 20mms on stealth. You can leave the 7.7s on tracer since they never kill anything anyway to help aim. But since you’ll probably kill with a 20mm round, it’ll count. Premium means Prendergast or Plagis Spit, or A6M5 Ko, but there’s lots of tech tree options. Italian Spit or Bf 109 works too.

Hello!
As you are a turn fighter player, I would mostly suggest going for Japanese or German ones.
My first pick in Japanese tech tree would be A7M1. One of the best if not the best turnfighter in the game. In addition to that, it has decent firepower and you will definitely have fun playing this thing.

Another one, but not as great and has higher BR - A6M5 Reisen. Reisen is more universal I would say, a bit weaker and at higher BR. It also carries smaller amount of 20mm rounds, so it might require getting back to base more often.

Ki-100-II would be great if you are looking for something at a lower BR. Ki is good in both air and ground (as CAS) battles. Very good 12.7mm guns.

In german tech tree, there are two most reasonable picks in my opinion - Fw 190 D-13 (good for long fights, keeps its energy with amazing firepower) or Do 335 B-2. It gets air spawn (still remember to play carefully). It outruns almost everything with great speed, has excessive firepower, however turning is not that good.

These are also good picks for earning credits. If you are a beginner, I would say go for Japanese, if you have some experience, German planes will reward this.

Do not forget friend, that it is not about the plane, it is about pilot. If you would ever like to get some advice on how to optimize your battle performance, let me know. I often help players if they ask me to :)
Stay safe!

This feels like i’m reading a guide on planes from 10 years ago. :D

But no,i’m not new, just haven’t played much low to mid tier RB .

I think i’m going to try arcade then, doesn’t make sense to bother with RB.

The only easy premium i identified in your inventory suited for “casual” players is the event Thai/ JP SB2C-4.

If you equip gun pods you have an overwhelming firepower, with a convergence setting of 800 meters you should be able to get a few kills per match even with a potato aim like mine - i recommend upfront using the test drive map in order to determine if you need vertical targeting or not as you 20mm has a rather good and flat tracectory.

I will use the UK premium Hellcat as i got somehow used to the 6 x 0.50 cals which perform quite nicely.

Fr-1 is insanely good but it got pretty bad stealth belts compared to a lot of other stuff

guess what ,i was just about to enter with a 4.0 lineup that included FR1,XP50,P51 NA and a captured A6M2 and a captured ki61 lb

I will also try the SB2C-4 thai

10 years, so?
Since this game was created, different nations had some assumptions to meet, some nations have speed, others firepower, else just turn great. Devs won’t change it suddenly, nor you will hear that italians are meta all of the sudden.

It is not the best game to look for astonishing fireworks, therefore it is pretty interesting thinking that Japs or Germans were cool X years ago, not anymore.

the current meta is clearly turn fight.

Boom and zoom isn’t really relevant, hasn’t been for years atleast.

So you think japs are boom and zoom? After you just mentioned A6M2? Im just speechless

P51 is the book definition of BnZ buddy

i never said that, you assumed that.

i added p51 there because i already had it and i could have a 4.0 br lineup in arcade that would allow me to stay in the game longer and get kills.

Why are you so stiff about this? It’s not that serious. You seem mad about something

Oh come on, don’t blame it on madness. This discussion is just substantive. I am just curious why using Japan (they are the best nation to do dogfighting) or Germany (they have excellent turn-rates and out turn many, many props) is for you a BnZ tactic dating 10 years past xD

The 303s on the Spitfire Mk2A Venture are easy to aim without tracers, and you can reliably positions yourself into easy kill shots. Heck basically anything at or around that BR is easy to aim without tracers, like the hurricanes.

No idea if there is a min BR though, If not, any of the 4.7/5.7/6.0 Spits would be just as easy, either with full stealth like I run, or as Bruce suggested with tracers in the low calibre and stealth in the usual kill shot cannons.

Wyvern is another option, with the airspawn you can just go bomber hunting early game, and you have planty of ammo to do a bit of spray and pray. But the HIspanos are easy to aim

That mk2a venture spitfire is my favourite spitfire , i’ve farmed so much early britain with it, one of the best planes i’ve ever had and it’s worth every money if you’re new to the game.

It’s rank 2 though,so it doesn’t count for that challange,i did went in with it before noticing that and scored around 10 to 15 kills

Ah damn, that sucks and yeah, one of my favourite low tier props, and a steal for only £5

only thing you need to watch out with it is the engine thermals,it gets hot very fast and damaged itself so quickly if overheating, but that’s easy to learn. Not that it matters in ARB,but even in RB is very fun.

Spits with stealth belts will get you that challenge. Just stay on your toes.

Yeah, it is, or run MEC and then you can mitigate that quite a bit.
