Naval kill system rework is needed badly

how can i knock out 55% of someones crew and it give the AI bot on my team the kill ? like thats over 50% of the crew gone they cannot knock out more crew then me its horrible

literally mathmatically doesnt make sense ?

Should get something like severe damage bonus if damage dealt to said ship at least 51% you

Exactly, similar to ARB we can get bonus’s especially since sometimes a ship can be very stubborn and not die, but only for some clanker to yoink it from u cause it did 0.01HE damage to a single crewman named kyle

The right mechanic already exists, with severe damage. Just reward everyone with the kill that meets a certain required amount of damage to the target, rather than the kill being given to whoever gets the last hit.

There is nothing to rework, just need to account damage from fires and ammo explosions to the players caused that, atm all that damage accumulating on target and then been taken by the player who did the last hit. What could be reworked is damage RP reward been accrued immediately, not after target death, like it is now.

“Sever damage” is literally copium snake oil. You already have it in current system, RP after kill splits between all of those who did crew damage to the target, and last hitter gets all crew damage which was not spread.

I need at least some explanation how kill count system work in naval battles. What percentage of damage should I currently do to get a kill and to get assist? Playing Italian 7.3 battleships I get mostly assissts, although sometimes you can shoot at enemy for 5 minutes or more and not getting even assist.
Why not to also add “fatal damage” as in air battles?

Easiest solution is to give the kill to the person who dropped the enemy ship into scuttle range (8% crew) and give a assist count as kill for someone who decided to 0% crew that scuttling ship.

Also change how AI get kills because it’s obnoxious for a player to - for example - nuke a Kronshtadt’s shell room, drop it to 4% buoyancy and the AI gets the kill credit because its 99% ineffectual HE did some sort of damage.

Or my personal favorite, you set a fire just above an enemy’s ammo magazine in the elevator only for the T22 bot to somehow ammo detonate the heavy cruiser/battleship at nearly 15km away.

I don’t care so much about the credit, just gimme the RP/SL in proportion to the damage I did

esp. for some battle-pass tasks kills or assists are necessary and therefore its very annoying if one doesn’t get these despite of the amount of damage applied to the target.

yeah, but I’m just talking general game play that is an everyday thing. not the occasional task.

If only Gaijin cared about communicating this clearly to the players.

What would be so wrong with notifying players immediately through a “severe damage” notification?

i def think sever damage should be based of crew percentage and structal damage if you hit a shell room it should count as severe damage
