Naval EC should not become another version of standard Naval Battles

Yep, just by taking any old EC replay and looking at players setups and BRs spread.

What if EC was a moving convoy map where one team defended and one attacked but the convoy utilized cover if attacked?

Mostly liberty ships but they’d move in and out if cover while team B attacked?

If this sounds incoherent, I apologize, mostly drunk.

In my experience, I’ve had plenty of battles with far more top-tier vehicles per team. I’m specifically referring not to the 8.7 era, but to older patches when top-tier vehicles were at 7.3.

Even if it ever was like that(but i doubt, probably you mistaken 7.0 BB as tops in 7.3 battle), not anymore.

Hey Kweedko, if you do not like, you do not play.
But no need to destroy a gamemode we love for your beautiful eyes.

I’m creating activity in your tread, you should be thankful for that.

Who told you it will be easy to defend your position(easy as farming DDs from 8.7 BBs in old EC). You gotta fight for you right to party(as newcomers have to fight with destroyers and early cruisers against party of four 8.7 in old EC).

old EC “diversity” was artificial

No real objectives to play for smaller ships, and the main deciding factor was arriving early in game or not

The meta is all around big guns and big armor, and torpedo nets render the main weaponry of the already underdog classes useless near the objectives

Now yes, getting that random torp kill after sneakily approaching for 20 minutes was satisfying, but it was not meta at all

So IMO the new system isn’t better than the old, but the opposite isn’t really true either i’d say

Torpedo net was necessary IMO cause japan were torping spawns.
The only things needed was the timer before respawn and when you enter a cap zone, enemy cannot respawn in

It was a deliberate game design decision. It is very naive to assume that most of the people in EC would voluntarily choose anything other than battleships if given the option to pick them right away. Personally, I enjoy playing destroyers, torpedoboats, and aircraft alike. However, the appeal of deploying battleships is precisely what should motivate the majority of players to try out other classes.

If said battleships had vulnerabilities (and we all know they should have, like AC or a submarine waiting for them), we wouldn’t need this artificial system.

But you prefer to destroy a working system so that someday they’d do it “the way it should be”—according to you. Nice.

And subs are planned.

I think so too. It would be absolute horror trying to defend a port and spawning on it with the swarms of torpedoes going straight for your spawn over and over again. Its way easier sending barrages of them towards a spot where enemies will be appearing and will be sitting in that area than out towards the attackers spawns that everyone is moving away from. On many of the port spawns you also only needed to travel a somewhat reasonable distance to be out of the nets, though on some spawns they were more like a circle, so if you had to send them sideways theyd still run into the nets like so on the southern port spawn on the denmark map. It would have been cool if you could actually see the area of the nets, like, wouldnt they need some buoys to stay afloat?

You know that i still want kitakami as event vehicle … :eyes:

Googled it now…for the Kaiten human torpedoes? That could be cool af to be able to guide those like with the new mitl system.
oh damn and 40 long lances. holey…no pls no xD Nooooooooooooooooooooooo…2 of those in arcade ec and you cant sail anywhere anymore…

Yeah, I had an idea to have it, like E100 or something like.
Or like, you can have it only by doing tournaments and have it in limited time.
Or a map like it was in navyfield having different harbor to capture in a world war map,…

I have many idea about this ahah.

i mean sure, getting very special vehicles is always cool. but having 40 type 93s on one ship alone would be cancer af. Shimakaze with “only” 15 is already a pain in the behind if 2 of them are in the enemy team that are playing for defending objectives.

Giving something like that out at a tournament or just a small amount of selected players would just gatekeep an incredible annoying ship for some very few players. while E-100 can be incredibly annoying to deal with when hes downtiered, you can always track, shoot its gun, and ignore it and its not much different from a maus that basically anyone can have…

Its gonna be a bit harder ignoring a ship that can spam 40 one hit kill torps with 15 or 20 km range that go more than 90 kph right after he spawns :-D imagine spawning that and having the entire enemy team on one side of your ship early match. You can basically sweep the entire ocean on one side of your ship free of enemies. Even worse with the reloading of torps in arcade…
But anyways thats getting a bit offtopic ;-)

new nuclear and infatari test XD. they need one mont betwen test to change noting. but claim to change someting. i mean those are under gaijins main atention. imagine they not even care ebaut naval. how good place we are in XD. naval and sim players togeter we are les then 1 % btw

Aobas get 16 but have to reload 8 of them.

I feel torpedo nets should be notably smaller and only work one way so defensive torpedo action can be taken tbh.

IE if you’re sending torps outward from the letter, they’ll go through the net but firing them inward would still block them.

I know it’s not realistic but it’s also a video game.

I somewhat agree that yes, in destroyers and smaller ships it should and needs to be possible to defend with torpedoes.

But its a problem that then you an just sit on your cap, be untouchable for enemy torpedoes and just send endless barrages of torpedoes out WHILE also reloading on the cap.
That would be like making the stupid and annoying missile boats immune to enemy missiles on caps while they can hit every other smaller ship at insane distances with their own missiles.

I feel like it was ok that you had to take some risk to sail out of the cap, giving enemy ships at least some time to stop you before you could send insane barrages of torps towards them. And again, the japanese destroyers with the 10 times better torps than anyone else has are the main problem here. Especially because playing japan you have so many of them to chose from that you can easily slap 5 of them in your lineup and not care about the spawn cooldown. We all love playing them, but no one loves facing them obviously.

But it would have helped the players that need to defend to actually know where the torpedo nets are (they are roughly at where -if youre outside the cap- the cap starts so at the point it stops showing you the range to the cap. which in the top bar where also the caps are listed is shown as a grey bracket around the respective cap point as soon as you are sitting inside -and thus also inside the torpedo nets- the cap. IMO they could be visible through bouys that (witout any knowledge on the matter) i feel like would be necessary to keep the nets afloat in the water table.
