Vanguards deck will resist 1,000lb AP bomb dropped from 14,000ft her secondary armament will resist 500lb SAP bomb under the same conditions. Exocet warhead weighs 364lbs, harpoon warhead weighs 488lbs. Albeit Vanguard has some of the best deck protection if not the best when considering armour quality which is the issue on Yamato. But you won’t even go through the thinnest part of the armour maybe the citadel and grief AA, let alone the main or upper belt.
H-39 was laid down though? The main criteria for a ship to be added in WT (project or not) is for it to at least be laid down.
oh
I don’t understand your concerns. They never cared about keeping all nations competitive.
At least with the 10% rule Germany can have an aircraft carrier.
i sincerely doubt we’re jumping into the last generation of battleships this soon, but this is Gaijin and i doubt they learned much from adding Scharnhorst when they did
H-39 and H-40 (a H-39 repeat/sister ship)were both laid down yes. The only reason people in the WT community have hatred of them as a concept is because Gaijins game mechanics gives German ships an artificially inflated amount of survivability.
Yea modern munitions have virtually no real effect on ships of this era. There’s been some vague suggestions from Naval Analysts that we may see a resurgence in armour going forwards as ASHMs enter the hypersonic and carrier killing era.
I would like to hope not also. Richelieu would be a good addition atm though I think.
Although British VC steel is better than Amercian WW2 class A steel, the differences are not significant enough. bUT, American WW1 class A steel is significantly less effective than German and British.
My argument here is mainly armament. Bismarck’s 4 twin 380mms is essentially considerably worse than every other nations top firepower
AFAIK “H” did not have the full keel laid down, but I could be wrong
everyone gangsta till the swordfish pulls up
Iowa has a GREAT fire control system, I think it can potentially outmatch the Pr.23
Gameplay wise, Bismarck, and then H-39, will be the best BBs ingame.
The ingame engagement ranges favour turtleback armor schemes significantly, and the meta is largely defined by rate of fire.
These ships have both thick turtleback schemes AND a 26 second reload.
Also, two H-39s were laid down.
Littorio is still stronger than Bismarck
But there is more to it than that though.
Scharnhorst only has 11" guns and yet has been kicking the living hell out of everyone else despite having 15" and even 16" gun ships in game for quite a while. Just as long as scharnhorst for things like HMS Hood
The 283s from my experience weren’t that good, outmatched by other lower caliber guns like Kron’s 305s
Bismarcks 380s did not have that too good of muzzle velocity either
And yet scharnhorst was considered the most OP ship in.the game because 15" guns could barely scratch her paint.
Even now, Im wary fighting a Scharnhorst in the Rodney or Hood because I know I’m at a disadvantage in a sustained fight
Im not saying Scharn isnt OP I think it is as broken as Kh38s but the thing is the top BBs will probably get stronger armor, and the 283s probably won’t scratch a Yamato anyway, and Bismarck’s 380s aren’t that much better (sure it killed the Hood but that was luck and not because of a good gun)
