NASAMS3 inaccuracy in radar?

NASAMS3 TADS uses the AN/MPQ-64 Sentinel radar as the main search radar, which should be a AESA radar with rotation rate of 30 RPM. Of course this is according to Wikipedia and is not the best source. Still, the current in game version have a full rotation period of almost 4 seconds with no TWS-ESA ability. Also, the AMRAAM-ER is kind of weird in terms of data link. Multiple times I tested interception of ammunition with my friend and instead of going after the missiles heading toward me, the AMRAAM-ER decides to go after my friend’s aircraft. I suppose this is due to the main radar being shit and cannot update targets quick enough.

yep

just like how its been on the CLAWS

basically the CLAWS
use the same documents as the CLAWS(given it has same radar) to bug report ig

Yep, still the same trash radar as CLAWS

The same two issues from the CLAWS have been sitting as “accepted” for six months now:
AN/MPQ-64 Radar Scan Rate Too Slow
AN/MPQ-64 Missing TWS ESA

I wouldn’t get my hopes up on them being fixed any time soon.

Yep.

Even with the reports I made, gaijin still treats the thing like a basic mechanical radar for some reason.

The NASAMS 3 does not use the AN/MPQ-64 radar, but at least the AN/MPQ-64F1 which has a faster scan rate and better acquisition of supersonic and/or low flying stuff such as helicopters,UAVs and cruise missiles. The NASAMS 3 has a better version of the F1 so it should even be faster.

Not only that, the NASAMS 2 brings the Data Link 16 update that massively raises the DL strength of the vehicle making it possible to track munitions very well.

Finally, the NASAMS 3 should also receive the electro-optical update that gives it the ability to passively launch missiles by giving it a pseudo IRST that both the AMRAAM-ER and the 9X can slave into

“not a bug”

Oddly enough the AN/MPQ-64 thread has some citations that I grabbed about the F1 in particular, its pretty much the best 64 beyond the V3 at this time too.

Tbh though the CLAWs should be using the V3 and the NASAMS should have the F1, its very odd that gaijin chose to give it still the baseline, or whatever abomination they seemingly made instead of the actual recent versions of the system.
