Does anyone have any good pointers on how to properly use the nasams? I can fire my aim9x at a su30 within 5 km and they always seem to miss? from my knowledge I don’t believe 9x are easily fooled by chaff, especially when they’re flying head on. I get more kills with my amraam at closer ranges than the 9x - any pointers or is the 9x just not modelled correctly?
I’ve also had issues when launching at ammunition both amraam and 9x don’t seem to eliminate the ammunition, even if I launch it from 10+ km.
9X can be decoyed with flares as seen by a few of them fired in my clip with the last one barely catching the target.
I used to use rockets to decoy incoming IRIS-T missiles and the 9X is no different, pre flaring also makes dodging them a cake walk.
I mainly keep the 9X to salvo fire them at LDIRCM helicopters. One of them eventually gets through. Also my bug report for the AMRAAM-ER got accepted so it’s top speed will go from mach 2 to 4.

Dude ngl I don’t know why the radar drifts so much
because it only sees each target once every 2 seconds
because this is the worst radar they could have added for this and might not even be compatable with the system IRL
and on top of that its missing its electronic back scan which would make it re ping every target slightly after the main beam pings them, this would allow TWS to update within one period making it able to engage new targets before the radar completes a full cycle

9x has its own seeker head no? wouldn’t it just be able to use datalink to find the target without needing to maintain a hard lock?
yes but if the TWS is pointing in the wrong direction it will never find the plane because the seeker relies on it to get it in the rough direction of the target

I dont know if it is still an issue, but a few months ago i was having an issue where the aim9x would fly through the jet and not explode.
The issue I’m having now is the fact my AMRAAMS won’t intercept a KH missile to save it’s ass… no reason they should be missile a hard lock on a kh from 15km
