Tbf via Norway sweden should get both SLAMRAAM and HML since Norway was the lead developer in both since the US pulled out pretty early on. Id rather just see an actual useful SPAA so even just SLAMRAAM would be better than EldE lol. Unfortunately i think gaijin decided to add the EldE so they can ignore adding a useful vehicle because technically they already added one
Finland operates the ITO 12 (NASAMS II FIN) as well.
It’s an extremely poor decision to only give a couple of nations these new medium range systems while leaving other nations behind.
Sweden should be getting the BAMSE (or ITO 12 (NASAMS II FIN), if it can be fired from the trucks, that is)
China should be getting the HQ-16
Japan should be getting the Chu-SAM
Britain should be getting the Land Ceptor/Sky Sabre
France should be getting the MICA VL
Italy should be getting their variant of the Sky Sabre or the Skyguard Aspide
USSR should be getting the Buk (or whatever they used that is similar to the Slams performance)
I dont think the NASAMS 2 can be fired from the bed of the truck though.
doesnt the launcher it self have to be fully deployed of the truck on the ITO 12?
@NOR_Tissetassen
Does it? I don’t know enough about it, I guess.
But hey, I guess BAMSE is still an option
i think its like that, i could only find pictures of it being deployed on the ground alone not on the truck bed
To be honest tough, I feel like having the NASAMS launchers be stationary could be fine. They could just give the radar unit a third launcher to deploy as a trade-off
I think I’ve seen Nasams II fired from the truck, although it may depend on the truck transporting the launchers.
Yeah could be, but i think most nations use hook trucks to transport the launchers
Here I have a photo of the Nasams II in Chile and on the rear the towed radar, although as I said before I don’t know if that model of truck allows you to fire them, I have only seen a photo of the Nasams II in Chile fixed to the ground.

Think that has to be dismounted from the truck before firing
You could just have a radar vehicle able to plop down stationary AA but for now, Gaijin isn’t going that route
Edit: thats not a chilean vehicle i think. Rather a truck with the SLAMRAAM 6 rail launcher mounted on it by Raytheon.
Looks to me like its closer to a HML/SLAMRAAM variant. I translated the article and it mentioned a battery attached to a mechanised group, perhaps this vehicle is for that?
Doesn’t it also have access to AIM-9X? idk the exact range on it but i’ve seen mentions of 30km+
I think some 9X SAM models feature a added booster pack so it could probably use them.
Yeah, latest fitted with 9X 2 i believe
ITO12 can launch from truckbed
can’t fire from the truck as far as i’m aware
Gaijin could def just have stationary AA as a placeable for radar vehicles tho if they ever go down that route
