Really cool <3
You contradict yourself. Some engine parts were created, but it was never fully assembled, let alone a full prototype aircraft. This proposal does not make sense, since there was no prototype, and the creation of the aircraft was refused in 44/45
Gaijin have said themselves that the R2Y2s wouldn’t meet the standard for modern additions and are looking to replace them if any more realistic designs from this time period surface.
He doesn’t, it clearly says that the submarines carried documentation only.
What constitutes an (unfinished) prototype:
- Vehicle was (partially) constructed
- Vehicle-specific parts (i.e. guns, powerplants, etc.) were built
Does the vehicle you intend to suggest meet the criteria above? Fantastic! In that case, you have a more obscure vehicle which at least in some capacity existed in the real world and is therefore a valid vehicle to be suggested.
I dislike Me 262s so I wouldn’t want this regardless.
I would support this suggestion, however, the reality that it wasn’t built will be controversial. Additionally, the Ne-130 is a better choice, as we know far more about it than the Ne-230.
the information that these two ships were sunk and no more were sent is not a denial. The Japanese had the Yanagi Mission during which they sent 5 different submarines to Germany to conduct technological exchange, while the Germans also sent 5 submarines to Japan. Of this number of 10 submarines, only two survivors reached Japan, these were the I-8 and U-511 ships.
I understand the outrage about the Ki-201, but it meets the standards of a unfinished prototype (engines have been built), and some sources report the start of prototype production (but they are rare and I preferred to ignore them). The plane seemingly looks similar to the Me 262, but it is larger and better armed. I know you’re probably going to say these arguments suck, but anyway, I’d like to see more intriguing prototypes for Japan in War Thunder.
Gonna be a no from me, fella. Only some engine parts being assembled does not constitute enough for it to be accepted.
For now -1, but later on if they decide to add these types of vehicles then +1.
unfinished prototype*
regardless, +1
oops, I’m correcting the wrong nomenclature
Only the keel of Kronshtadt was ever laid down, the F-16AJ was never actually built, both Ho-Ris are ficticious
The Renown doesn’t get the HE-VT/6crh shells it was equipped with post-refit, the Chaffee takes far longer than 3 seconds to reload, the HSTV-L is missing so much it isn’t even funny
But a well-researched aircraft only treading ground of what’s already ingame, more real than some of the aforementioned vehicles by virtue of its power plants being built, is unreasonable?
This is a really nice suggestion. You put a lot of work into it and it shows. Unfortunately the vehicle itself would be controversial to say the least. Only parts of the engine were built and calling this a unfinished prototype is a big stretch. No fuselage, no wings, no tail. Nothing. Sadly I have to say -1 but this suggestion is really good and I hope we will see more suggestions from you!
Whoever said I wanted any of the prior mentioned added into the game or missing their historical munitions?
Kron shouldn’t even be in the game.
Man back in the day I remember expecting this thing to show up in game alongside the R2Y2 (and not the V2 or V3 versions)
I should probably start reminding people to stop bringing up ships when they point out “what about this unfinished vehicle” because Gaijin has explicitly stated they treat ships differently.
Q: Designing a ship (not a boat) is a very serious matter, it cannot be seriously redesigned if mistakes come up when it’s already been built. That’s why everything is calculated in advance, and in truth, a ship is born long before it reaches the shipyard, it’s born in the final construction blueprints. Will navy branches include projects that were never realized in metal, but existed only in blueprints, not to mention those that never got past the stocks?
A: Yes, we’re not ruling that out, especially with regard to projects that were completely ready, but whose construction was never finished for one reason or another.
As a low-key Japan main I don’t think this should be in game, but would play the hell out of it if it was. The T-1s, T-33, trainer Vampire or early Thai jets would fill this tier better, without being ahistorical.
Personally I’m all for the Ki-201 being added to the game, it fits the criteria that at least parts of the aircraft were built so its grounded in a touch of reality (As opposed to the F-16AJ, R2Y2, Ho-Ri etc).
You can say its controversial all you want but its less so than other vehicles that have entered the game, for example the Chinese T-62 no 545 that entered the Chinese TT and started a forum debate over who truly should’ve gotten the premium. The C2A1 for its controversy of being a Canadian Leo that could have gone either in the Germany TT or the British TT. Controversial additions are nothing new in Gaijin’s case but for the Ki-201 its simple. Its a Japanese jet aircraft that is being proposed into the Japanese TT which is not only in dire need of more Rank V jet aircraft but brings a rather unique flavor to Rank V JP aviation.
I’m all for it and I love the proposed camo ideas, especially the 59th Sentai, Fukouka Japan skin. Either the quad Ho-5s or the double-twin mounts of 20mm and 30mm would be fine in my opinion. A well written and informational suggestion given the language barrier you had to contend with!
Actually the Ho-Ri prototype is more realistic.
Also the 244th, 68th, and captured camos are sexy as hell

It’s different from the cases you mentioned tho. Seems like you missed the whole Zerstorer debacle, which yes it was technically made, but still had an uproar from the community. From the ones who say it’s historical to the ones which say it should have the wirbelwind turret. This aircraft had only the engines made, and that’s it. No paper/incomplete prototype vehicle was added in WT since the removal of the Paper German vehicles. None of them. The last one we could argue was the J6K1, which still was much more complete than the Ki-201. And the F-16AJ was a proposal of an already existing vehicle. The Ki-201 never existed, not even in the form of prototype or mock-up. It’s an amazing plane don’t get me wrong, but as long as Gaijin doesn’t have photographic evidence the chances of seeing it added are below 0% at least for now. The only vehicles in WT without photographic evidence (since the famous day when they removed german paper vehicles) is the Ostwind II, but since then none of this kind were added
